Like so many people, my weight and names have been the most thoughts I have know all my life!!! I have always been the largest in any group from as far back as I can remember. The jest of every one!! I think about weight loss every single moment. I go to bed thinking about it and awake to find same thoughts lingering in my mind. I have made many attempts to lose weight but to no avail. I am hoping that this will be my last hurdle and not fall over this time. I have decided to go the surgical route, after 40 years of trying to lose weight, gain weight and all the yoyo activities to do with this topic. It is not the easiest decision to make but hey, if I want to enjoy the rest of the life and be blessed with or have kids, I must do what I must do... Tired of pills for blood pressure, tired of not finding the right clothes to wear, tired of not fitting into the train seats or being caught between the ticket barriers, tired of being the recipient of all weight loss wisdoms and their providers. Along with this, I have now given up dairy milk and switched to seed/nut milk instead. I will miss my tea and milkshakes but, this is a journey and I am sure there will be substitutes out there to compensate for what I may be missing. I have started off with Almonds and now, venturing into hemp and sunflower seed milk - homemade. So, no more pretence or trying to please anyone as this is for me now and me alone!! Wish me well, is all I ask!! But first, I shall try the lemon detox, raw vegetable, low cab diet, 5:2 diets and if they work, I shall call off the surgery.... :)

I did well today!!!!
I did it!!
I bought 72 pieces of ‘Krispy Kreme doughnuts’ for my colleagues as part of my leaving do party. And was I tempted to have one?... NO WAY!! I KNOW!! Even with the temptation and all?! NOPE!! I resisted... not even a tinny-winny bite!!

I followed the advices on this forum to plan ahead of such events where high carbs will be present. I made some flaxseed cake (ingredients: flaxseed, coconut oil, eggs & baking powder) and had a healthy slice at home before facing the BATTLE...Laughing Laughing

This has given me a lot of confidence, considering the way I was feeling when I started this journey. I would not have done this without your supports – so thanks.

So, I dedicate this victory to you all out there that have reached your goals but continued to support us who have a long way to go. I dedicate this to all those who have just started or restarting like me, for the bravery and determination no matter the progress you see (or not). And to those in-between, well, you know you are already a STAR.

This sounds like receiving an OSCAR lol..Rolling Eyes Laughing

Don't blame me... I never thought I would feel like this especially with the difficulties I had in week one.....

One week on low carb....
My temperament has settled down now and things are becoming clearer. I celebrated my birthday on Saturday and though, I'd been quite apprehensive about how I will manage, on reflection, I didn't do so badly. Of course, there are one or two things I could have done better for example clearing the fridge of leftovers and remove temptations. I could have insisted on not having popcorn which I forced myself to take out of politeness. The main point is that I had a good time with the family on my birthday and can start all the dietary strategies all over again, knowing that I had much fun with those I care about.Smile

Thanks both. I am doing a lot of reading up now and today is much better. I am so glad to be amongst great supporters. Can you please advise me on fruits. I love watermelon and banana. I guess these are no go.right..?
