I am a wife to the most wonderful and supportive Husband on earth; as well as Mother to 3 adult children, and Grandmother to 2 beautiful Granddaughters! I Work full time at a desk job; obviously giving me little activity during the week days (especially since I work 4 - 10 hour days). I also have several health issues that my doctor has declared keeping physical would aid in the probelms that arise (fibromyalgia, arthritis, facet disease). Although I am not considered too much overweight by my family and friends standards, I wish to look and feel better for myself; as well as for my husband. An upcoming highschool reunion for my husbands class has given me a goal to shoot for.

29 year old mom of 2, needs a buddy! :)
Hi Peasncues

I am a 45 year old Mom - however all of my chidlren are grown now and have moved out. However, I understand your dillemma all too well! While my chidlren were young, I got up to over 200 lbs. I did lose A LOT of weight going through a divorce from thweir Father years ago (got down to 130 - which by the way was way too thin for me.) I have then got back up to 184 - and am now at 175.

Although I do not have children at home right now - I do understand how difficulet it is tojuggel all you need to do for yourself when you have your babiess to care for as well. One of the things I began doing when my children were young was implementing m0re healthy snacks for them as well. It was hard on them at first (wanting their junk food snacks, cookies and candy all of the time like they used to get) - but, they eventualy learned to love eating some of the healthier stuff.

Anyway, I realize you have asked for a Mom in the sam situation - and I am not currently a Mom with children at home - but as I have been there - I would still love to be a motivational buddy for you if you would like. I beleive we can get in touch via e-mail first - then work on other forms of cntact as you and I would agree to that would benefit us both. I too would be willing to do e-mail, text, calls or whatever! Contact me at your convenience.

Most importantly - remember that we are doing this prmarily for us - not for anyone else (although it does benefit you family when you are felling better about yourself!). YOU ARE WORTH THE CHANGES - AND CAN DO ANYTHING YOU SET YOUR MIND TO!
SEE YOU ON THE THINNER SIDE!

HELP - NEED MOTIVATIONAL BUDDY!
Wow - I startted out doing so well previously; then just lost all interest rather quickly. I stopped journaling any intake, exercise, or journal entries. Luckily I have not gained back more than 1.5 lbs! But, the bad thing is - I started going the wrong way!
I am now at 175 - previously 184. Was working out on my elliptical brought from our son to assist me- doing up to 15 minutes a day (probably gonnal have to build back up to that again!) I am doing my own diet of 1800 calorie RDI based on the sites calculation of what is needed for me to lose a pound a week for the next 3 months. Goal is to get to at least 150 in this time.

My husband is very supportive - and although he loves me very much - he does not like reminding me of what I need to do. He has said that he does not want to make it seem like he is nagging me if he brings it up every day; especially on work days when I come home so tired. He also told me he loves me the way I am - and I'm not too heavy. But, he does realize that doing it for myself is important if it is going to make me feel better about myself.
So, I would really like to find a buddy who I can work with!! If anyone is willing to be a support buddy - and check in on each other occasionally, I am sooo willing! Thinking if there is anyone else who needs motivational support - maybe having another person to report to would help. Please feel free to send me a message - or submit a post response!

daily allowance
I prefer to hit my goal sooner than worrying about eating more. However, you do need to remember to also follow your RDI level as recommended. I'm not thinking that you could eat more just because you do your workout - I believe that could set you up for failure in the long run; as you could begin exceeding your calorie intake because of the belief that working out allows you to eat more. Of course, I guess it is a matter of how much and how quickly you wish to achievwe your goal. Just my opinion however. Smile Good luck!!

Who is following your own healthy lifestyle plan?
Thank you to all of you! I was reading through and seeing how so many people are on these different types of diets - thinking I may be doing something wrong by just counting calories and trying to start an exercise program.

I am new to the site - and already getting really involved in counting my calories and activities! I actually started counting my calories on February 9 - and have lost about 6 pounds! I have been working on a goal of 1500 - 1600 calories a day; and doing well so far. Drinking a LOT less sugary drinks - more and more water - and beginning to notice that I am feeling better everyday. Very Happy Today, I really had a lot of energy for some reason - which I have not had in years! I guess that just tells me I am doing something right - huh? And without once of those fad diets of any sort! Smile

I am gladly joining your group - Thank you!!
