My name is Jamie and I'm a Mom of two. Both of which are grown now and moved out of the house.

My husband and I live in a small town in Kentucky with our little dog Quark the Pug. I work full time in Frankfort as a site-supervisor for a document center.

There are so many things I enjoy doing that I really don't have a hobby so much as just have lots of things that I do. Genealogy, reading, movies, web-building, computer building, very amateur photography, history and so much more. Unfortunately none of which are labeled as "active".

My favorite genres are science fiction, fantasy and historical mysteries. Historical romances are my guilty pleasure, but I'm also a big fan of the classics such as the Bronte sisters or Thomas Hardy. Mainly chick stuff. What can I say, I'm a chick.

I'm also over-weight and not getting any younger. I'm regretful that I wasted my younger thinner years always thinking I was fat. Now I really am overweight and look back on this years with a great sigh. I know the best way to feel like my old self again is to lose this excess poundage by eating more healthy and doing more activities.

I quit smoking (after 22 years) 3 years ago and I've recently gave up red meat. I need to think the red meat thing out a little better though since I just finished some chili for lunch without realizing that it contains ground beef. Well, I realized it, but it didn't calculate until it was done. I'll get better at it though. 39 years of beef eating doesn't just disappear overnight!

Well, that is me in a jumbo egg shell. Wish me luck, cuz here goes nothing!

I agree with yerdua. As a former smoker, smoking a cigarette just one time is completely out of the question. I know, if I did, all these years of being smoke free will be out the window. I'm not a perfect eater and I've fallen off the wagon many times, but it has always been because I decided to 'not care' and throw caution to the wind. Now I'm back to the weight I was at 3 years ago and everything I had done to lose weight was for nothing. On the other hand, there are those that can smoke at the bar on a Saturday night and be smoke-free all week long. You really have to get to know yourself and what you can and cannot do. Quit talking yourself into things that are bad. Now I'm off to practice what I preach.
