Over 60 and tired of the extra fat in my mid-section. I would like to be able to ride my horse without feeling like a weeble-wobble on top of her.

Closer to my goal
Yippee, I dropped my weight down to 159 this morning! Hadn't seen the 150's in a long time, it feels good!

Sugar
I have cut my sugar intake back quite a bit. But I still have sugar in my coffee (maple syrup, brown sugar, or honey) almost every morning. Last night I made it so that My FatSecret kept track of the sugar in my diet. I just read that you shouldn't get more than 20 grams of sugar a day. I have already exceeded that amount in my coffee alone if the number beside sugar is in grams. Can anyone tell me if it is in grams?

Ketoing 5 Days a Month
I know nothing will work well for me that doesn't include some comfort foods, being Southern born and raised. So when my husband's doctor suggested he try his dieting lifestyle, and explained it to him, it sounded like we hit on something that might really work for us. He suggested a type of diet where you do Keto for 5 days once a month as a lifestyle routine. To add to that, my husband and I will carefully watch our calorie intake for all but one weekend the rest of the month. I realize that if I am not reasonable that one weekend that I could gain back all the weight I lost all month in two days, so even then I keep my treats and calories in check. Today I started my second round of Ketoism (fake sugar in my coffee, ugg) but I really think this is something we can do relatively easily for the rest of our lives. I don't know if this method would work if I needed to loose a huge amount of weight, but it seems to be working for me into my second month.

The Big Tummy Woes
I am 5'5'', 60+, and have been weighing between 164 and 174 for 10 years now. I carry most of my extra weight around my tummy and breasts which really sux. The tummy fat plus just general loss of muscle springiness with age both make me feel terrible when I ride my horse. I would be very happy to get my weight down to 140 so my tummy matched my skinny legs. Has anyone else, past 50, been successful loosing the big tummy? If so, I would love to read your story.
