Over the past 8 months I have been going to the gym on a regular basis and, for the most part, eating healthier. The results have been nearly a 30 lb weight reduction. While I have reached my 'stated' weight of 190 lbs, I think I am going to work on dropping another 5. If I succeed, great. If not, I will be happy to maintain where I am at. The weight loss has made me feel better, physically, mentally and emotionally, and it has taught me how to take better care of my body. These are things that I hope to take with me the rest of my life!

Bio: I am 45 years old; married; the father of a 4 year old and one-and-a-half year old, as well as a 17 year old step-daughter. I need to get myself back into shape so that I can watch my kids grow up.
My 'younger' years, up to about 3 years ago, I was very active into sports and working out. I know what I need to do to get back into shape, now I need to work on the mental aspect of it. They say that 21 days is what it takes to form a habit, so consider this my new Day 1.
My intent for Fat Secret is to use it as a journaling tool to track my weight, food intake, and exercise history. I'm also going to use it for motivation. I've looked around the site for a while and have come to the conclusion that - for the most part - everyone is on this site for the same reasons; We all have the same fears, needs and wants and there seems to be a lot of support between members.
I thank you all in advance for your support and I'll do my best to do my part as well.
