How much are you willing to give up for the wrong foods???
I am happy for the most part, granted I was pretty upset when I first heard on Friday but I figure no one can say if you be alive in 2 years and others have to deal with much worse. So I have decided to just make the most of it and also warn others.

My main motivation was basically to reiterate that this does happen and worse can happen if people don't pay attention to their diet and exercise.

I am not trying to dictate to anyone and I am very sorry for my lack of clarity. Again, I just found out Friday. I probably should have waited later before I said anything but I was so shocked by what the doctor told me that I felt I had to say something so that people like me, who felt they were fine would pay attention. I don't want to tell people what to do, just let them know that these things can and do happen.

7Priest7 I totally agree, but how happy do you think I am about going blind? If I had taken better care of my health I would be happy.

I don't know how many people who are healthy having any of the diabetes related illnesses I mentioned in my previous message.

You only have one body, one mind, one spirit. Each should be fed but if you feed them poison they will die.

Thanks Angel_face. My Dad died in February and I used food as comfort. I was doing really well on my diet but turned around and gained it back faster than I lost it. I kept telling myself that I would be back on my diet tomorrow. Tomorrow was Thursday night when I ended up in the emergency room with my right pupil over twice the size of my left and what looked like cobwebs in my right eye (only I can see). Everything is really bleary (I had to increase my view to 200% to use my computer) I love to ready but cannot see well enough to do that and I always read.

For me it was my eyes. I just found out that I will be blind in 2 years and there is nothing I can do to stop it.

I have diabetes (diagnosed last August)I never knew even though I had been to doctors and eye doctors (I have been wearing glasses since I was 21 years old). There are worse things that can happen than loss of eyesight (stroke, heart or kidney disease or all).

Everyone be should proactive and have the AC1 test so if you have a problem you can start to regain your health. I hope you all get help, if you need help, before it is too late.
