Tacklin' Tuesday With a Vengence

First - Alright, the scale is moving back downward this morning! No, I am not scale obsessed but after my weigh in yesterday, I needed a little good news this morning so I am gonna record it.

Second - Thanks to all my great buddies out there who came to my call for some suggestions yesterday and some laughs about my story of apple pie meets garbage disposal! I am still giggling about it too. A few tips you provided, switch from rib eye to sirloin (less fat and can still enjoy that steak on the grill), give myself time to re-adjust from this stress test, adhere to my macro/micro goals for the remainder of the week and then reassess. I do need to get the fat decreased and I find that cheese is a huge culprit for me. I will cut back on that. Going to drop the calories a bit and ramp up on more water and see if I can get things moving again.

Third - great news about my stress test! All systems are go, test was negative. I am cleared to exercise as much as I want, my heart is healthy and no signs of any blockages. Next cardiology appt...1 year! OK stress level...be gone with you now!

Fourth - I had thrown my name in the ring at the office and was accepted last night to a company offered pilot program for a 10 week program called https://www.naturallyslim.com/The_Program.html
It is free for those of us accepted into the pilot. Looks interesting. Not really a diet, no special foods, pills or anything like that. It is a series of classes on line to teach you how to eat like a thin person. They say it is not what you eat but how and when you eat that makes the difference. OK, I am gonna try it. I look at it like getting some additional education about this journey and any tips I can pick up that may help me understand all this is a good thing. I know I have to keep track of alot of stuff so it may limit my time here, will see.

Fifth - I have appt #1 for my root canal/crown today. Guess it will limit the what I can eat for awhile until completed.

Stay cool today everyone, supposed to be a scorcher!! Above all, eat light and stay hydrated.

So day two of the stress test was today, glad it is over. More injections and MRI-ish picture taking. No treadmill today. No nausea either. Took about 1.5 hrs. Should have the results by Tuesday. Fingers crossed that all is OK.

When it was over DH and I decided we were going to head to the beach for a huge beach power walk. It was a glorious day at the beach, not much crowd...perfectly lovely. Walked for 2 hours with 3 lb weights in my hands. Yikes, my shoulders were sore after that. Legs felt great! DH slept all the way home in the car. Probably burned close to 2800 calories today, took almost 11k steps. Not sure how many miles we walked but that isn't really all that important to me. Will see what my BMF says in the morning.

Didn't really have any breakfast or lunch today, just had no appetite. After all that drama with yesterdays part 1 of the test I slept almost 11 hours yesterday. WOW, didn't get up until 10am today. Guess I needed it. Will sleep good tonight I am sure.

My dad came over while we were gone and dropped off a load of fresh veggies, corn, beans, beets, tomatos, onions, squash. Nice surprise on my kitchen counter. Simple supper tonight of burgers, sliced tomatos and a few tater tots.

Tomorrow's plan: get oil changed, wash car, laundry, clean out frigerator and prep all those veggies for the week. Bought some tofu, need to do something with that. Maybe a tofu and roasted corn salad of some sort. Maybe a short bike ride in the afterrnoon. DH & I would like to play some tennis on Sunday so need to buy some tennis balls at some point.

I think that will be sufficient exercise for the weekend. Oh please dear scale, treat me kindly on Monday am!!

So day one of my nuclear stress test is behind me. Didn't sleep very well last night. DH took me to the appointment. Got me all hooked up to the electrodes, inserted the IV and injected me with the fluid. Time for treadmill part doing 2 minute intervals of increased intensity and incline while taking my BP at each interval. More fluid injected, more intervals. Trying to get my heart rate to 142 but couldn't get it up that far (not sure what that was all about), some other fluid injected to "force" my heart rate up. Felt really weird after that and thought I was going to throw up. Another injection to bring the heart rate back down and the nausea subsided. Then off to take more pictures, was kind of like being in an MRI tube for 20 minutes and couldn't move. Damn, don't you know I got an itch on my face that I couldn't scratch!! Figures that would happen. Just glad I didn't have to pee!
So here I am with all this strange fluid in my body, felt out of sorts all day once we got home and slept most of the day. DH made me a great tomato, cucumber, avocado, lime salad with some steak on the grill and some yummy toasted bread that I got at the farmers market this week with goat cheese.
Part II of this test tomorrow morning with more injections of fluid and MRI-like pictures. Should have the results of it all in 2 days. Hope no blockages or images of potential issues. I really don't want to think about having to have any kind of heart surgery but this is how my dad originally found out he had 3 blocked arteries 25 years ago and needed immediate surgery after his brother died suddenly also at age 55 just like my brother did in April. Needless to say, can't wait to get this behind me.

Happy Hump Day

AAHHHH....heat has broken and it is much cooler this morning. Showered before bed and a fan in the window helped to drop off to sleep last night. Expecting dry weather thru the weekend, maybe a thunderstorm tonight they say.

Today should be a good day work wise. Finishing up a project today, diligent heads down all day should give me enough time to get it done. Off Thurs and Friday for my stress test. Staying off the scale until it is over. Wonder how much all the dye they inject in you weighs? Can't have any breakfast in the am or even a cup of coffee....that is really gonna bother me as I am always looking forward to my breaky when I get up. Think DH and I will plan to get lunch somewhere when tomorrow am session is complete. Then back again on Friday to finish up the test. Kinda nervous about it but trying to not think about it today.

Hope you all have a great day today filled with sunshine!
