What are Levels of Hunger?

Level 1 - You are "NOT" hungry. You graze, grab a cookie, don't think about what you are consuming. The clock on the wall tells you it is "TIME" to eat.

Level 2 - You are "SORT OF" hungry. You look for salty or sweet things, not a salad or meat. At about 2:6 you start to think about what you really want to eat.

Level 3- You plan what you really want and what you are going to eat. At about 3:3 you are excessively hungry and you are starting to get grouchy.

Level 4 - You will eat anything in sight without any thought or planning at this point. You may be feeling nausea or have a slight headache.

I am learning to recognize my hunger levels and strike to eat at between 3 and just before getting to 3:3.

Today is Day One of Naturally Slim for me. I am participating in a corporately sponsored pilot program free of charge along with 25 others and our success (or not) will help the company decide if this is a program that they would like to offer to others.

I completed the first video today, all the classes are on line. I heard alot of great information that really makes sense about learning how to eat like a thin person. Today was about learning the difference between appetite and the 4 levels of hunger.

Most of my journal entries, at least for awhile, will be around this plan. I have made a 10 week committment to this so I am going to do my best to fulfill it. It is not about what you eat, but it is about how and when you eat it! I have to throw everything else out the window, no weighing and measuring, no macro/micro calculations. I will record my food here because it is easy to download into excel, but won't be precisely measuring.

For the first week I have to learn my hunger queue's.

Here I go!
(My start weight on this program was actually 253.4)

Finally home after a wonderfully relaxing weekend at the beach for me and hubby. It was great to escape the excruciating heat here of 107* to a nicely air conditioned hotel room.

We went to the Mystic Aquarium yesterday which was interesting. Followed that up with more shopping. I got 5 X-mas presents bought and tucked away. Boy, that is a first for me. DH doesn't usually take a liking to walking around with me while I shop but he knows I don't get much chance to poke around in the shops. He made an appt for me for a facial and then guided me over to the place for my "surprise" which was wonderful, he then bought all the products the gal used on me when she was done. WOWSA...I am in heaven!! He then took me to a Southwestern store and bought me a pair of red cowboy mules (the front looks like a cowboy boot but it is a backless healed mule type shoe)....love them and can't wait until fall is here to wear them! Next place I found was a Hanes/Playtex/Champion outlet shop. I really need new bras and the gal there was so helpful. At this point DH opted to walk back to the hotel while she measured and helped me pick out the right bras for me. Who knew I had been doing it wrong all these years!! I will tell you, if you have never been professionally measured etc, please ladies do this for yourself. I got 4 bras that lift those girls up like they were only 20 years old!!!! Oh yeah, best part I went from a 46D to a 42C. Got a bunch of new undies (down a couple of sizes in those too), 2 pairs of PJ's and 2 new Champion dry-fit work out tops.

Swam a bunch after the shopping trip and then opted to stay at the hotel for dinner, we were exhausted and neither of us felt like driving anywhere. Had great seafood chowder and fish & chips made with freshly caught New England cod. We did split a dessert of a lemon creme cake with fresh strawberries.

Headed home this morning after breakfast well rested and deciding that since this little gem of a place is only an hour away from where we live it will be a frequent destination for us for a quick get away weekend.

Hope you all had a great weekend!
