Happy Saturday !!!


I am a happy girl sitting here in my air conditioned hotel room this morning after a dreamy night of restful sleep. DH and I have decided we need a new bed...this "heavenly bed" here at the Hilton did the ticket! We are here at lovely Mystic Village, CT on the Long Island Sound and aside from being extremely hot, it is gorgeous.

So on the food front, had breakfast yesterday at home, didn't have any lunch as we were driving so just sucked on the water bottle the whole way here. For dinner we went to a fantastic restaurant called One Fish. They had many options for dinner in addition to a sushi section. When I heard that I was all in! Haven't had sushi in awhile since DH doesn't care for it but since he could order off the regular menu he was fine with it. I had some wonderful cucumber/seaweed salad in a slightly sweet vinegar-sublime! For my entre I selected a california roll supreme which was a regular cali roll with smoked salmon wrapped around the outside and also a tempura shrimp roll with a shirachi sauce for some kick. All was delicious and not too heavy. For journaling purposes I tried to find some similar items, I think it came out OK.

So for today we are going breakfast here shortly, we have a complimentary buffet here and I can always find healthy options here so not worried. We are then off to the aquarium for the day since it will be cool in there. Lunch may just be an icecream. Come back here and swim in the pool and then plan where we will have dinner.

Happy HOT-HOT-HOT Friday


Wow 6:30 am and 80^ already. Yikes!! Add that into the equation of my tooth still aching where my root canal/crown activity has been half completed. Permanent tooth should be ready in 3 weeks. It is just sore so not really comfortable eating much more than soft food. That is OK since fruit and turkey sandwiches work just fine.

I don't want to say this too loudly for fear of jinxing myself, but the scale is sliding back downward this week. (SSSSHHHHH!)

Off to the beach for the weekend to escape the heat as best as we can. Still going to be 100^ there by mid day too but at least the hotel has AC. Working at home until about 2 and then taking off. Our weekends generally entail alot of calorie burning and beach time always includes a great power walk. Don't know if that is going to happen this weekend, however the Hilton has a great gym and I know we will get in some gym time.

I always think about this now when we prepare to leave for vacation... In the OLD DAYS the first thing I used to pack was bad snack food of all kinds, never even crossed my mind to pack any workout clothes-vacation meant a vacation from exercise as well! My buddies that have been with me for awhile know how I despised exercise when I started this journey!!
Now in the NEW DAYS the first thing I pack is all of our workout clothes, shoes, tennis rackets, small hand weights, and granola bars, water, chobani yogurts, fresh fruit for breakfasts or snacks.

Probably won't be back here until Sunday night unless I take my 'puter with me. Will try to sneek it into the car!!
