I'm a homemaker. Married 35 years to my best friend.We have 2 children and 5 grandchildren,all boys.... I love reading,collecting cookbooks, going to thrift shops,yard sales and etc.,fishing,camping,vacations,spending time with family,friends and eating out. I love... food,have been on many diets many times.But now have health issues and know I have to get serious about the foods I eat.Hope to make friends here,get many good tips and share mine too. :-)

Numbers different than on my box of crackers
Just notice that the Keebler's Club multi Grain Crackers I buy has 4 crackers 60 calories on Box. But when I search foods to post it for me ,they are showing 70 calories in 4 crackers for the same Keebler's club multi grain crackers.Oh well only 10 calories difference

About Me
Just joined a few days ago.My name is Gypsy,yes that is my real name.What was my mama thinking?Laughing I have a boy 35yrs and a girl 32 yrs. 5 grandchildren 16yrs,13yrs,7yrs,4yrs,and 8 months,all boys. I live in N.C. near the ocean.I like to go to church,fish,read,antiques,yardsales,thrift stores,camp,eat out,spend time with family and friends.Love to sit on my porch with a good cup of coffee.
Have tried many diets,lose and gain. But am now type 2 diabetic so Dr told me I have to watch what I eat. So hope I can make new friends and get ideas fom all of you. Good luck on our journey.We can do this.

Snacks
I'm looking for some good snack ides.I eat lots of veggies. I'm talking about low sugar and lowest carb. Everything I read on labels have lots of carbs.... Here's a few of my go to snacks,still have carbs.Smile
Club crackers(multi-grain) 4 crackers 60 calories 10g carbs
2g sugar
Reduced fat colby jack cheese sticks
1 stick 60 calories 0 carbs 0 sugar

Special K sour cream N onion Cracker chips 27 chips 110 cals.
1g sugaar 22g carbs I usually eat 12 of these for 1 snack though

Good Beans
So true Jeri,much better for me. SmileI do have to watch my salt too.Makes feet swell when I have to much. So much sodium in everything.

Good Beans
I love to take a can of cut green beans,put in pot add water to cover,salt to taste,just a dab of bacon grease and onion powder to suit your taste.Cook for about 30-40 mins.adding water and stirring as needed.If you add more water add more onion powder as this makes your beans taste so good.When done will be so tender and taste almost as good as fresh beans.Smile
