Current Weight:(01 Jul 15) 194.6 lb
Goal Weight:193.0 lb
following: Microwave diet
performance: losing 5.3 lb a week

Believe it or not, this is not my photograph, but one of my beloved dog Mitzi. And of course my name is not Glaun, but Phil and my photo is somewhere else on my Fatsecret page. The name Glaun is my computer Gaming name. For those of you who game, I am most fond of MMRPG games and usually play them multi boxed.

I have been retired for 20 years now. My last job (if you want to call it that, really it was a 5 year extended vacation) was as a ski instructor in Park City UT. I met my current bride there and now live in Carefree AZ. Yes, the life style here is all in the name of our town.

I have three adult children, two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

My wife and I live by ourselves (plus critters) and love to travel. I have lived in several countries around the world and have traveled a lot. My primary loves in life are travel, Skiing, Scuba, and Flying. When forced to work, my primary vocation was law.

That is when I joined FS. As you can see, it has been slow and steady for me. 1/2 to 1 pound a week. I figure with my new diet and exercise program I will reach my goal of 193 lbs by December, 2013. (I am 74 inches tall)

So there you have it. I am glad to be in the company of so many who have the same goals as I. Good luck to us and as I read somewhere, "God bless us, everyone".

(2015) Update It has taken longer than expected but I reached my goal of 193 somewhere around 10/2014. A series of events hit me and for a few months I gained weight until I reached 201. A dive trip called to me in 06/2015 and I again resumed FS in earnest. I have lost 5 lbs and should make 193 by dive time. At the same time I will hit the unheard of age of 81. What a grand life!

It never fails to amaze me.......
It never fails to amaze me how few calories i need to maintain my large frame as compared to how many calories my brain tells me I need.

Before and After, anyone?
Thanks for all the encouraging posts. Nothing like having someone notice the weight loss to keep me working at this program. Thanks everyone. I encourage all to post photos. It's more than ego, it is really a good way to reward yourself and to keep working at your life diet plan.

Northern: My ego couldn't resist a photo with the new Lycra Skin (or wet suit). If any of you are going to submit photos I highly recommend going to your local dive shop and get one, even if you don't dive, they make you look super in the photo. (and yes, I really did dive - six days, 12 deep dives and one nite dive)

Finally, someone asked what was my diet. I just did the basic CICO (Calorie In - Calorie Out) diet. Used FS (Fat Secret) and was very careful to enter all the calories and exercise (45 min,5 X week). Also, used Mommydees suggested web site to get a more conservative RDI than FS gives.

So, CICO, use FS exactly with a good RDI and buy a Lycra Dive Skin from your local dive shop. You're gonna look good!

Scale Fear
I agree with Saige 18 100%. A daily weigh in while fun, is quite worthless. Any decision to modify your diet, exercise or life style should (IMHO) be based on long term observation, rather than a snapshot. So as Saige suggests, go ahead and weigh daily, but record only for the long term (every couple weeks). It sure helped me.

How do you log your steps per day? Over goal or all for exercise?
Log your hikes in minutes. Same for Kayaking. Fat secret doesn't recognize what you are logging if you try to log steps. Go to the Exercise page in FS to log minutes of exercise for any activity. FS will take this info into consideration when reporting your RDI.
