Goal Weight:193.0 lb

performance: gaining 0.8 lb a week

Believe it or not, this is not my photograph, but one of my beloved dog Mitzi. And of course my name is not Glaun, but Phil and my photo is somewhere else on my Fatsecret page. The name Glaun is my computer Gaming name. For those of you who game, I am most fond of MMRPG games and usually play them multi boxed.

I have been retired for 20 years now. My last job (if you want to call it that, really it was a 5 year extended vacation) was as a ski instructor in Park City UT. I met my current bride there and now live in Carefree AZ. Yes, the life style here is all in the name of our town.

I have three adult children, two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

My wife and I live by ourselves (plus critters) and love to travel. I have lived in several countries around the world and have traveled a lot. My primary loves in life are travel, Skiing, Scuba, and Flying. When forced to work, my primary vocation was law.

That is when I joined FS. As you can see, it has been slow and steady for me. 1/2 to 1 pound a week. I figure with my new diet and exercise program I will reach my goal of 193 lbs by December, 2013. (I am 74 inches tall)

So there you have it. I am glad to be in the company of so many who have the same goals as I. Good luck to us and as I read somewhere, "God bless us, everyone".

(2015) Update It has taken longer than expected but I reached my goal of 193 somewhere around 10/2014. A series of events hit me and for a few months I gained weight until I reached 201. A dive trip called to me in 06/2015 and I again resumed FS in earnest. I have lost 5 lbs and should make 193 by dive time. At the same time I will hit the unheard of age of 81. What a grand life!

Right! Mummydee and thanks.
I am afraid I was too obscure in my (what I thought to be funny) "tricks of the trade". The above responses are correct. While I try to be honest, I just wanted to remind us all that this is a powerful addiction we have and if we are not careful we will occasionally be dishonest withe ourselves.
Thanks all.

"Tricks of the Trade". Fool Me Once Shame On You. Fool Me Twice Shame On Me.
Oh ! the mind games I play just so I can fool myself into believing that I didn't eat as many calories as I really did. Over the years I have used dozens to trick my self.

Perhaps you have some to share so we all can be reminded how tricky dieting is and what a mind game it is.

Here is one I have used often.

Trick #1: "Opps, forget that!"

I had mexican food for lunch. (Big mistake). After, at home, went to FS, found the calories for the items I ate (Two Tacos, One Enchilada}. ! 670 Calories.!

OMG, that is over half my daily allowance with dinner still to go I spent 570 at breakfast leaving 100 for dinner.

What to do? EASY, just don't enter the bowl full of chips I had prior to my 760 calorie blast.

There you go. Trick numero uno, just don't write it down, then it doesn't count against calories; Never entered, never ate it thus it won't add to my weight.

Cleaver, right? Lets hear about any of your tricks if you feel like sharing. I'll bet they will be quite funny and they will reveal how clever our food addiction really is.
