I started my weight loss program on December 6th. My Dr. told me I was pre-diabetic. She told me to lose weight. In spite of being very large, (FAT) I've been healthy. My starting weight was 350 lbs, which is the biggest I've ever been. I'm 6'1". I have terrible eating habits. Late night snacks, portions too large, starchy foods, cheeses, chips, and so on. I've not been a yo yo dieter. I've just been getting bigger for the last 20 years. Although the last three years, I have been under tremendous stress, personally and professionally. I've gained 50 lbs in that time and have gone from Fat to Whoa!!

So my first goal is to get back to FAT :) and see where I can go.

Since December 6th, I've been aware of my eating choices. I started out eating a bit less than I would have normally. (Still not very good). After the holidays, I got a little more serious about the whole thing and cut out snacks during the day. By the end of January I was reducing my dinner portion. Two weeks ago I started looking at calories and substituting (Rice Cakes for Potato Chips kind of thing) I even hit the elliptical runner a couple times. On 2/14 Weighed in at 337 at Dr's office. I have a Dr's Appointments on 3/15 and I decided to get serious.

Started a food journal and hitting the Gym ever other day doing 30-45 minutes on the elliptical and treadmill.

I had been looking up calorie counts for things without a label and I landed on this site.

Let's see how long I can stick with it.
