Hello, I am 45. I was a soldier at 17, a mom at 23, a police officer at 23. I was injured while on the job, this became a chronic injury when they couldn't find the source of my pain. I retired when I was 30. I did some retail work, and then loss prevention. I went back to school and became a medical assistant. My pain level was sometimes manageable and other times I wanted to crawl out of my own skin. Different medications caused weight gains and losses. I had surgery in 2007 to remove the disc at c-5/c-6 and had a spinal laminectomy. That worked for about a year and then pain levels started to fluctuate again. Migraines got worse, numbness and tingling and pain got worse. I was finally diagnosed with Fibromyalgia in 2010. I had to give up working as an MA last March. The repetitious nature of the job was causing a lot of pain. The office I had worked for was able to give me a desk position which was wonderful. I had a younger girl who also worked in the same area, she made it her mission in life to see how quickly she could aggravate me which would bring on more of my fibromyalgia symptoms. So now I am retired and put on about 35pounds, and they need to be evicted!!
