Annoyingly, my new scales tell me that not only have I failed to lose any weight this week, but that I've put on 1.75lbs since the last time I weighed myself. Argh! And I thought I had been so good. Back to the drawing board to assess what is and isn't working I guess.

Have you double checked that with the older one? Not all scales are calibrated the same, so you can and usually will find some degree of fluctuations there.

You can weigh different amounts on different scales. It doesn't mean you didn't lose weight on your old one. The best thing to do is start fresh with your new one. Use it as your official weigh-in scale, so you can keep an accurate gauge of your weight loss. Scales are calibrated differently, so you can get 3 different weights on the 3 different scales. Keep it in the same spot on an even hardwood surface. Weigh in the same time, same clothes, same spot, same day to get the most accurate picture of your weight loss.

I know how you feel. I had problems with my scales last week because I moved them from one room to the other. It really got me down because I felt like I hadn't really lost the weight but I know that is not true. And I have weighed on another set of scales and it was different then my one at home. I am doing what Suzi suggested and I just decided to start anew with what my scales now say (I am sure they are more accurate now since the floor is more even). Although each time I weigh myself in my mind I am subtracting those extra pounds it is showing because I know that I did lose it just shows different on the scales now.
