Penlan's Journal, 04 April 2016

After a fortnight of a party/feast a night with the old folk, and all the major celebrations ticked, I feel I have done well to only weigh in at 400g over the start. Eating different foods and at different times, and lots more wine than normal, I feel I have scored well here.

Of course it could be an erroneous blip, having been in bed with the lurgy for the past 3 days is bound to skew things.

Less than a pound after a fortnight partying is not bad. I'd take that any day.

You did well! Probably worked off a couple of pounds getting those poor sheep out of the mud!

You've done very well! I bet that 400g is all water weight too! I bet life feels dull, though? Hope you are getting some reasonable weather now.

Perversely a few days in bed with only germs for company is probably a good wind down back into reality Heidi :) Lily, the poorly sheep had the vet out to her yesterday as she started going downhill. I have been to see her first thing and she is on her feet and nibbling grass, which is a good sign. Yesterday she was cast and the bl@@dy birds had a go at her eye. They didn't burst it, but she doesn't need all that as well. Thankfully the forecast thunderstorms missed us, we just had some heavy rain. Having lots of feasts and special food every night and not pigging out was a wonderfully enlightening and empowering experience for me. It is possible to enjoy good food, good wine and good company with the only excess being the good part. No headaches or hangovers, special yummy food but no bloated overeating pain, and no guilt or recriminations after. First time in my life I have not hurt after a Christmas dinner. Wonderful. Lovely too to see those around me enjoying their time and food in their own way. Rhontique - oh I wish it were that easy. Don't we all. The last three days in bed I have not had much to eat, I feel. Logging and looking I have had plenty. It's so easy to add the kcals and so hard to let them go. Keeping track and logging food makes it possible to not kid ourselves so easily. It will be interesting to see what happens over the coming week as I recover from the germs and get more active again. Thanks for all your support buddies :)
