And the race is on! First day of weight loss since Saturday's Indulgence! I put on 2.3 kgs, and the first 0.6 came off today. It was a huge gain, too! :) No sweat, though, I'm sure I'll make it just fine. We'll see.

Tonight is my teaching night. I will go teach the kids to rock out! :) I'm hoping that we'll finish up Smoke On The Water, at least to the point where they can all handle the rhythm guitars, bass and drums from start to finish. It's so much fun to work with them - AND good money too. ;)

It's nice to know that the kids like doing my class, I see smiles all over the place when we play. They get to do stuff that they can't at home, play loud guitars and drums, be in a "real" band and get it all working together. I am of course showing them how it's done, but THEY are the ones performing, and they are the ones who get the credit. This year they even have a goal, if they get good enough for it. There is gonna me a metal concert with a handful om smaller bands at the school in about 6 months. If they are good enough, and confident enough, they'll get to be opening act with a few songs. That's pretty cool, huh?

Not too much else to report today. Work is kinda rough on me these days - there is a LOT to do, but I like what I'm doing. It sometimes wears me out though - especially on a day like today. I go to work at 7 or 8 am (we have flexible work hours), and stay until 4 pm. Then I eat my dinner - which I bring from home - and go straight to the school to teach from 5 pm until 8:30 pm, and walk home to be home at 9 pm. It's a LOOOONG day.

However, it's all fulfilling stuff, and it's good fun too.

Life is good! :)

Yeah for the weight loss :-). Your teaching sounds so great, I bet the kids really love it and I also bet the parents do too - it gives their kids a chance to "let of some steam" in a safe environment. Have a good day - even though it is long :-)

Safe environment? I hope not! :) Rock'n'roll is a DANGEROUS place! It's highly addictive. ;)

Long busy days burn lots of calories:) Reading this post I can't help but imagine you as Jack Black from the movie "School of Rock".

You must video the concert- with your motivation and mad skills, these kids are destined to rock out in the metal concert extraordinaire! Send me the VID I’d love to see your talent in full glory! Smoke on the water... epic song!

Gotta love Smoke On The Water. To me, that is THE classic rock song. It's fun, catchy, easy to learn and hard to master. It has it all. If (when) we get to the finish line and they can play it, we need to do the video, definitely. I think it'll be a kick for them also - and if they keep playing afterwards, it's SOOOOOO uncomfortable for them to watch when they've grown significantly more. :) LOL.
