Tacklin' Tuesday With a Vengence

First - Alright, the scale is moving back downward this morning! No, I am not scale obsessed but after my weigh in yesterday, I needed a little good news this morning so I am gonna record it.

Second - Thanks to all my great buddies out there who came to my call for some suggestions yesterday and some laughs about my story of apple pie meets garbage disposal! I am still giggling about it too. A few tips you provided, switch from rib eye to sirloin (less fat and can still enjoy that steak on the grill), give myself time to re-adjust from this stress test, adhere to my macro/micro goals for the remainder of the week and then reassess. I do need to get the fat decreased and I find that cheese is a huge culprit for me. I will cut back on that. Going to drop the calories a bit and ramp up on more water and see if I can get things moving again.

Third - great news about my stress test! All systems are go, test was negative. I am cleared to exercise as much as I want, my heart is healthy and no signs of any blockages. Next cardiology appt...1 year! OK stress level...be gone with you now!

Fourth - I had thrown my name in the ring at the office and was accepted last night to a company offered pilot program for a 10 week program called https://www.naturallyslim.com/The_Program.html
It is free for those of us accepted into the pilot. Looks interesting. Not really a diet, no special foods, pills or anything like that. It is a series of classes on line to teach you how to eat like a thin person. They say it is not what you eat but how and when you eat that makes the difference. OK, I am gonna try it. I look at it like getting some additional education about this journey and any tips I can pick up that may help me understand all this is a good thing. I know I have to keep track of alot of stuff so it may limit my time here, will see.

Fifth - I have appt #1 for my root canal/crown today. Guess it will limit the what I can eat for awhile until completed.

Stay cool today everyone, supposed to be a scorcher!! Above all, eat light and stay hydrated.

It's nice that your work offers a program like that. We have WW meetings here but the cost is the same. They just started a health assessment program and according to them, surprise, surprise, I need to lose weight. Duh!! And then she told me to cut down on the carbs. I almost burst out laughing. I told her that I lost over 20 lbs already and was already following a low-carb diet. So I guess I'm doing something right. Good luck with the root canal today. I hate them.

It is excellent news regarding your stress test! I'm sure you are much relieved and now you can become an exercise fiend! I'm glad to see your weight take a downturn too. Your journal was just full of good news today. I hope all goes well with your dentist visit also.

So the dental was pretty much as expected with plenty of novocaine, drilling, impressions and now a temporary crown until the permanent one is ready in 3 weeks. Did manage to get in a nice vigorous 2 mile walk earlier this afternoon to SWEAT out the remainder of that apple pie!! LOL... Would have gone longer but the novocaine was wearing off and my tooth was pulsating with each step. I had a contractor come this afternoon to discuss re-doing my kitchen. The estimate was in the ball park so will give that some thought and have an answer back to him in a week. DH is thinking he would rather have our master bathroom redone. So now, need to find someone who does bathrooms and get a quote for that. Oh well, it will be one or the other this year!

I will definately share what I learn in the naturally slim program. many large corporations enlist their services and appears they have a good success rate. Time will tell but I guess a one hour committment to complete the class on line, journal my food and try to learn some thihngs certainly can't hurt.

Great cardiology news! That has to be a major stress relief and worry to take off your shoulders. The "how" and "when" of that course you're going to take, has my interest. I guess when I read the Gary Taubes book, Why We Get Fat," I couldn't help but feel that if some of the mechanisms are true, then there should be some take-home lessons about when it's best to eat what macronutrients to best lose weight. Hope this course can give you some new insights.
