DAY 14 & I've strayed from doing what I said *I* will DO. I will offer no excuses but will mention what I believe caused me to make the choice,altho' unaware perhaps at the time,to deviate from my desired course......sore muscles from pushing myself TOO hard & bringing home library books on weight loss.

What To Do So I Wont Make These Choices Again:
Rather than push myself TOO hard *I* will push myself a LITTLE more each day & rather than bringing home library books on weight loss *I* will NOT read them.

Why These Choices Will Make The Difference:
Pushing TOO hard may *seem* to be a good idea & even get the job done in "record time" but *my* experience has been that it takes me out of the "game".I *like* being *in* the "game",not on the sidelines & since THIS journey is *my* journey *I* get to call the shots. *I* choose to push a LITTLE more each day. This choice will get me to my goal because it keeps me off the sidelines where I am just a spectator & in the game,where advancement is made! You *can't* score if you aren't in the game!:)
Reading books on weight loss IS a good idea *if* I need to learn "how to" & *I* don't. *I* know *how to* lose weight.Reading books on weight loss is NOT a good idea *if* I already know how to lose weight because it then is just a distraction, keeping me from *doing* what I already know(losing weight).If adjustments are needed in losing weight they can be determined by examining my food & activity diary. This has been *my* experience that works! And,these are *my* choices :)

That being said I want to say that even tho' the # on the scale rose today I'm certain it is muscle & not fat. And altho' I'm not measuring until the 31st I can feel & see the changes & reshaping of my body! Others can as well. :) Without any coaching 2 friends who I only get to see twice a year,maybe, commented that they can see that I have lost weight & that I "Look Good!" I am doing this Lifetime Transformation for ME but it sure feels great when others notice the changes *I* am making!

WE are the magic pill. :) LOOK no further!
185.0 lb Lost so far: 7.2 lb.    Still to go: 65.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

I agree - great journal and great insight on both accounts. Yep.. all the books are 'lose the weight & keep it off' but if that worked, well, the weight loss products wouldn't make up a zillion dollar industry, would they? I've read many that have helped me turn a corner on some past bad habits but yes, it's up to us. We know what to do... we just have to do it .. every day and every meal. Yes, the scale may be up but so is your self esteem with all of this interpretation.

Thanks Unstuck, I hope I haven't given the wrong impression to anyone by my saying "I wont read books on weight loss." If so, I want to clarify my meaning. I was reading them with the purpose of finding out HOW to lose weight but since I KNOW HOW,reading then became a distraction, STOPPING me from DOING what *I* needed to be doing in order to lose weight. If a person *does NOT* know what they need to be doing to lose weight then reading the books ARE A GOOD THING! :)

Thank you Bella! You make a good point I'd like to echo....."I've read many that have helped me turn the corner on some past bad habit....." THIS is another good reason to read a book! :) *We*,meaning every person on fs, can also help others (our buddies) "turn the corner on some bad habit" by the way we post our journals! Bella,I know I have said it to you, but now I want to say it to ALL who communicate on fs, BELLA is a great example in posting *encouraging,motivating,inspiring.....turn the corner on some bad habit* journals that each & everyone of us here can benefit from! (I know all of you agree) :) Some of you,& ;> YOU know who you are, have even said:"I wish I could write like her."(YOU are nodding your heads right now) Guess what?! Even tho' we are all different, each of us have the ability to write GREAT stuff that encourages,motivates & inspires. :) HOW?! As we write our journals, include how the things we say relate to our goals! No doubt since we are all here for the same reason(weight management) the comments we post *will* help someone else "turn the corner on some bad habit"! You know how good it feels when someone,some book,some quote has helped you,right?! Pass that same good feeling on. :) *I* CAN'T WAIT to read your posts & see how it helps *me* :)
