dlewis1234's Journal, 18 June 2019

Haven’t logged a thing the past four days. Travel and company all weekend made me not even want to see the numbers of what I had consumed.
Saw oncologist last Thursday, all is looking good! He felt that I was retaining a tremendous amount of fluid and suggested that I take lasix. 197 lbs when I left his office, 189 this morning in spite of all of the food, beer and cocktails I enjoyed this past weekend. I have peed away 8 lbs lol! For the three weeks before my dr visit, I was keeping 1500 calories or less, and not seeing any noticeable results. I guess that you can’t diet away fluid???
Anyway, to get back on the right track with this food train, and to begin walking 15 minutes a day (dr’s orders) to repair the damage to my leg muscles and nerves from the chemo.
189.0 lb Lost so far: 3.2 lb.    Still to go: 39.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

No— you cannot diet away fluid except by limiting your salt intake. 8 lb. of water is roughly 4 quarts. That’s tough on your heart. This is a serious issue. I hope you will address it as such. If you are a Keto person then I guess you just Keto on.

Thank you Kenna. No I cannot do keto, but I didn’t know that fluid was that tough on the ticker. I will definitely talk to my primary care dr next visit. Thank you again for your input 😁

Dlewis—this type of information is made available to everyone- every where, TV! Radio, magazines. Fluid overload leads to congestive heart failure and pulmonary edema and heart attack. I’m not a Keto person either. Exercise helps, especially cardio. Do so research. Google is your friend. Your life depends on it.
