Do you miss caramel apples? I don't. Raw, vegan, hydrating, and freakin delicious (did I mention simple?) Blend up some pitted dates with water and cinnamon. Dip some apples for a delicious snack. 2-3 apples and 5-7 dates makes a great 500 cal snack

Thanks for the inspiration, Vickiauntmick. Raw, vegan eating has been a revelation! I recently finished a 21-day body cleanse that allowed only raw vegan foods while taking a series of herbal supplements. I never felt deprived due to the variety of recipes provided...savory 'meatballs', 'chorizo' and 'cheeses' made entirely of nuts, veggies and spices. AMAZING!!! Finished the cleanse with a lost 10 lbs loss of fat and body waste. Have lost another 10 lbs. since, incorporating vegan, vegetarian and regular meals... and regular visits to the gym. So far seems to be sustainable. It takes some effort to prepare the wholesome foods and get to the gym, but I love to cook and have committed that working out is a part time job that pays in other than dollars. My goal is not really weight loss (though I am obese), but attain wellness by improving blood sugar and cholesterol numbers in order to live healthfully for as long as possible.

Is it just dates blended with water or is there a recipe that I overlooked?

If you make this again you could add cocoa powder to it for that great chocolate flavor. Hershey’s cocoa powder has about 10 cal/3carbs in a tablespoon.
