I just had some cashews and thank God I stopped when I did. I couldn't believe the carbs.

Bugsy, as far as nuts are concerned, almonds are better than cashews, but I know what you mean. I love cashews! Instead, I created my own treat: a 1:1 combination of cocoa powder and artificial sweetener in a ramekin (a very small bowl), plus an ounce of raw almonds (about 25 whole nuts) to it. I pick the nuts out with a fork. The dusting of cocoa mix allows me to enjoy a "sweet" chocolate treat without all the calories. I set the ramekin aside and "reload" it with an ounce of almonds a day. The cocoa mix lasts *forever*!

BTW, I use stevia instead of the other artificial sweeteners. It takes a little getting used to, but it works for me.

I was having, or really still is with the same issue. I everyone gives examples, but I still can't seem to get 1700 in a day especially on my work nights. But I have started a low carb protein shake and it seems to work wonders for me and then I work from that.

Most foods have even a tiny amount of carbs in them, but for 0 carb foods, eating foods such as various meats, various sugar free foods (although some have very small amount of carbohydrates), fish is usually just protein and fat, various supplements.

Oils will up the calories very quickly. Olive oil, butter, coconut oil etc. usually those can be high in calories when overloaded.
