Majorly FLUSTERED today... I am back up 2 lbs. What a yo-yo. I am really bloated and constipated. I am doing psyllium fiber and citracel fiber 2x day diligently. I drink as much water as I possibly can, until it causes acid reflux, which is almost every late afternoon into the evening. Then I have to take an acid reducer and it's 50/50 whether it works or not. I am not walking like I should, so I got to get over my chronic fatigued self and just do it, everyday. I have not been getting restful sleep for awhile. I think this is because I am so frustrated with not losing weight when I have done everything right. I also need to start being creative with my lunch and dinner meals. Again, I let my CFS get in my way. I have all the foods to do it, just need to follow through.

I did a cortisol 24 urine test awhile back, endocrinologist has been out of the office, still waiting on results. I am really curious if this has affected my weight loss progress. I hope to hear something soon.

Week before last, I sent a message to my primary doctor that I was not losing. She offered to send me to weight management center. I told her I wished to think about it because it is in SF Bay area, and that means lots of long distance driving. Besides my CFS, I would have a hard time meeting my water requirement for LCHF. I am seriously considering it though, after I get my cortisol test results back.

This morning I almost decided to change my WOE after I weighed. I have been contemplating it for a week now. Not because I can't do LCHF, but because of the constant yo-yo of my weight. I planned a day on a different WOE, but as soon as I had a sip of coffee w/2 Tbs of regular coffee creamer and liquid stevia, I changed my mind. I've worked to hard this long to give in so easily. So, I'm gonna take it easy on myself, and quit worrying and beating myself up.

Eliminating pressurized whip cream that I use on coffee to see if that helps.

One day, One step at a time. I got this!

Well sweetie don't want you feeling bad..and you need to do what works for you... Ive tweaked my so many times to adjust to me...I try to introduce foods and chart if I feel to bloated or not energize I eliminate them while I'm losing weight I don't want the yo yo effect aggravation either....I had to eliminate heavy cream and some dairy products not have so many like I was and that has given me tons of energy...its individualize...I do have journals and I am doing what works for me Keto...is just a blueprint plan because I do react better and more energetic with a low carb intake...Im hoping that you will soon find a plan you do enjoy and don't feel so stressed out over...that's not good either....huge hugs and my love to you sweetie;)

I understand your frustration. Losing weight is so much a mental thing. It seems like I have to be obsessive about it to continue to lose weight, and then I have cravings that I give into. I've been in a mode of constantly working to lose the 2-3 pounds I keep gaining. I don't do low carb and hope I never have to. But I do try to limit the amount of carbs from processed foods by portion control. That way I can have some things I like, but have a small portion - like 1/4 or 1/2 bagel.

Fritzy 22, Thank you so much for understanding and your insight. I am insulin resistant, so just cutting calories on a normal pyramid plan doesn't work for me. My BS was still up after 3 hours on a 300 calorie meal (110-120). While I watched others just melt away doing it. I know it is something that is on plan, that just me is not able to eat. I hope to get this figured out soon! Thanks again for your support! :)

I've found psyllium fiber has quite the opposite effect to its stated intent.

maxie4, I think the most frustrating part is that I am working at it really hard. Over the weekend, I did have 2/3 piece of low carb cheesecake with splenda from The Cheesecake Factory, but that should have been long gone by now. I have seen other low carbers eat it without any weight issues later. I wanted it, and I wanted to see how my body would respond to splenda. Obviously not very well. Also, I hope I don't have to give up liquid Stevia completely, it is the only way I can have coffee, and I need my coffee. I went without it for awhile, didn't make a difference, and actually I began to lose once I found the hidden sugar in pressurized whipped cream and did away with it. I think I will eliminate any cans of whipped cream and see if that gets me moving again. Thank you again! :)

saniv, my primary dr recommended that I use it. It worked well when I started, but some days I end up bloated. Thanks for sharing your experience! :)

Sometimes there is a stall no matter which WOE we try. Takes some tweaking to get things rolling again. Staying under deficit every day should get things moving, eventually. I get so frustrated when I reach a plateau that just won't budge. I decided when it happens again, I'm going even lower on cheeses. It is recommended no more than 3 - 4 ounces a day. Love cheese but I can adjust. There is calcium in other foods. I am confident you will find what works for you.

Yep going to have to take about 3-4 days weigh before you want to see if you will have a food sensitivity to that food..does not mean its a gain if you read my journal after I did a weigh in. I weighed in at 141.4 then ate high sodium foods just as an experiment because I don't weigh but monthly I weighed in that next morning at 144.2 didn't eat above my macros but there it was 3.2 up...continued to weigh through out the next 24 hrs..was 140.8 last weigh in ..food sensitives are not weight your just sensitive to that food and it will make your scale weigh in higher...are you measuring your body...that works for me better...more hugs your way...;)

kattay, Thank you for your support and encouragement. I just hate stalls, and especially not knowing what I am sensitive to. I'll get this figured out. I need to have patience. :)

AnnaBrianna71, Thank you for sharing your WOE. Because of my weight, I am insulin resistant. My BS would go through the roof with carbohydrates. I've tried. But, thank you. :)

I like that we can all support each other on FS regardless of our WOE. I understand many people HAVE to do low carb because of diabetes or other issues. My doctor has told me NOT to do high fat and to try to eliminate processed foods. I work on portion control and try to just have good fats - avocado, nuts, olive oil. For the most part I have eliminated processed meats, so it's hard to see how many people are losing weight eating those meats I love-bacon, salami, etc. Sounds like you should be losing and I know that is frustrating. I like beverages and don't usually drink very much water. The past couple days I've been filling a 12 oz glass with water and drinking much more than usual and I'll see if that makes a difference. Do you take medication to control your blood sugar?

Have you tried miralax instead of the fiber supplements? They make me bloated and feel awful. Miralax seems to work well and doesn’t have the side effects for me. Maybe try it and see if it helps? My dr recommended it for my 2 yo and said they give it to premies in the nicu so it’s safe.

Fritzy 22, About 2010 I did take metformin for diabetes. I lost 85 lbs on Atkins and was no longer diabetic. Obviously I gained most of it back, but late last year I inched my way back up and my A1C was 5.8, no meds, instead primary dr recommended LCHF. My A1C has already dropped to the normal range and other lab markers have improved as well since I started WOE 1/30/18. I have worried about hidden sugars even in boxed black teas so always double checking, and honestly, I mostly just drink coffee 1-2 times a day, and lots of water.

momma6224, My primary doctor also recommended me taking miralax. I was hoping with just the fiber I wouldn't have to use it. I hate the stuff but I need to use it or I will have another diverticulitis flair. I'm trying to figure out how to get 20-25 grams of fiber from foods without going into a constant stall. I've looked up veggies that have the most and still can't stay under 20 grams of carbs like I am doing.

Are you subtracting fibre from total carbs? -- You can track "net carbs" in FS. I, too, am aiming for 20 - 30 but also keep up fibre. It's hard. Things like apples also blow up the numbers with sugar.

I was going to ask you the same question as Saniv. Do you need 20 grams NET carbs? A few years ago I tried to see if I could come up with 25 grams of fiber a day while staying within 1200 calories. I found the highest fiber was in berries. A cup of raspberries has 8 grams of fiber and 6.9 net carbs. I know beans have quite a bit of fiber, but also have carbs, same with potatoes. So what I did to come up with close to 25 grams of fiber was have 1 1/2 cup of raspberries, sometimes baked potato (I think the fiber is in the skin, but not sure). But unlike you I wasn't worried about carbs, but found to stay under 1200 calories I had to eat mostly fruits and vegetables.
