Feeling frustrated and sad today. I'm frustrated with being stuck at the same weight for a week now despite following the diet well and working out. My weight loss has always been slow and steady, but this week it's pretty much halted.

My exercise is fine, I think. I've been working with a personal trainer and that has been fabulous. Today I did 45 mins cardio plus some weights and my core/abs exercises (my trainer calls these "Jane Fonda moves"... fortunately no leg warmers are required.) ;) Yesterady I did 50 mins cardio plus my core. So, although I didn't workout over the weekend, I feel like I'm generally doing well with the exercise. Am also doing well with the food, unless the amounts are wrong. I've followed a very restrictive version of phase 2 for a couple of months now, which is basically phase 1 food with a little bit of fruit and a very infrequent (less than 5 in the 2 months) bit of bread. Over the past two days I've been more hungry than usual, which is annoying.

Anyway, maybe I'm just hitting a point where it's going to be slower and harder to lose the weight. Not sure what else I could do, though. I know I've made good progress. My trainer was astounded that I'd lost 26 pounds since May 1. A colleague today said I looked "sporty" and asked if I'd lost "a whole lot of weight." My clothes are falling off. So, rationally I know it's progress, but emotionally I'm still irked today. Sigh.

Well, give yourself a huge pat on the back for all that you've accomplished so far, not just losing the weight, but raising two little kids, finishing grad school, exercising!!! You're doing fantastic and I hope you feel better. Take care and try to cheer up, I know it's hard when someone tells you to, so just know that I'm here to say "good job!!!" Best regards!

I know how hard it is to stay positive, to continue to work out, and not eat what you want when the weight stalls. Just hang in there. Also, since you have been working out, you may want to start taking measurements as well as your weight since you are building muscle. This will sometimes throw you of on thinking that you are stalled when in fact you are still losing inches. Keep up the GREAT work!

You're doing so good, and are a huge encouragement to me. Hang in there!

You've been at it hard for a long time now, so frustration and burnout is natural. You will reach your goal, plus you'll keep your sanity and good humor. It just may take a little longer than this summer. You have been such a great example and support for me.
