I found that not having sugary snacks in the house certainly helped. I can't have them in my house. If you're craving it and it's not there, you're not going to have it. You can eat an apple instead or another fruit! I found that if I have sugar early in the day that I want it all day long so if I crave it I wait as long as I can. I made a point of never having any after supper. For me, doing things slowly works, changing habits one at a time. Everyone is different. If you do manage to cut out the sugar you will find that you don't need it. You will be able to enjoy it once every few weeks and be quite satisfied. There is added sugar in cereals, honey and maple syrup. It is what worked for me!

Not sure whI check plan you've decided to follow, but I've been doing keto with a supplement program. Doing it slow. If I could still be healthy and eat only dairy and sugar I would be in heaven! I would never think that way now. On keto, I get to have a lot of fat and that has taken away the sweet cravings. We (husband & me) also bake using sugar substitute, but only once in a while. That's what has worked for me. I do believe that any good plan, has strategies to deal with sugar cravings. Best of luck to you. 👍😊

I am a sugar addict, too. I try to find the most 'bang for my buck' that takes the least amount to satisfy. so far what is working for me is eating 2 tablespoons of dark chocolate chips. I eat a few at a time and it really helps the chocolate craving! that's what has worked for the past 8 or 9 days. Hang in!

I make sure to eat plenty of fruit before cravings set in. I often have berries for breakfast, an apple for lunch and another apple for a snack and then some fresh berries before / after exercise. I really don't have that uncontrollable urge for cookies and candy I use to have.

Potassium rich food will remove sugar addictions pretty quick. Avocados, etc.

To stop a craving I use sugar free jello and sugar free whipped cream- I realize the chemicals are not great but it is better than a binge....

Getting away from chocolate and sweets is the hardest part of my weight loss goal. it's been 4 weeks and I have lost 10 pounds. going to the gym 4 times a week is helping me get my energy back. now I am not craving the sugar like I used to.

It's mind over matter. Take stock, do you want to lose weight or not? Every time I think I could be tempted to sin, I look at myself in the mirror and ask myself whether it's worth a short binge. If you want to lose, substitute, and not with chemicals or processed foods. Decide that fresh raspberries, berries, and cream are just as good, or better, than anything you can buy off the shelf. Sugar calls for sugar. Remove the sugar, and in time you stop craving it.

Hang in there l. It’s the hardest part and a constant battle even when you break the habit. Almonds and cashews are my substitute. The saltiness is a not perfect but tasty substitute for the sugar, and low carb.

Helps me to know that the appetite is NEVER satisfied. You always want more and you know where it leads. I can eat it and have consequences OR I can stick with commitment and decision for more than food (with all it's consequences, including depression and mental torment) or I can choose to get busy with my life and change it. But I can't have both and be healthy and happy. Choose each day, what you want most.

I've been using sweet drops it's a natural sweetener. it works well in my tea and cereal. after about 3 days of abstaining from confections you don't miss it quiet so bad.

Eat some protein when you are craving sugar, it helps ..

I'm a sugar junkie too. My guilty pleasure is ice cream especially in summer. I find that having yogurt handy if I really have an ice cream craving helps a bunch. A good high fat greek yogurt thats flavourful & satisfying though, not thin "low fat yogurt". I eat low carb high fat so I just make sure I fit within my 50 grams of carbs daily target and I lose weight.

I was a Blue Bell ice cream addict but now I mostly eat Kroger Frozen Yogurt. Love the Caramel Praline Crunch. Of course it has sugar in it but the fat content is much lower. I also agree that protein helps to ease the desire for sugar.
