I had a friend say to me once: I want to be healthy, but I also want to do cocaine. How do you balance those two ideas? And the weight watcher motto: nothing tastes as good as skinny feels! Hang in there!

I know exactly what you mean. Since I started this journey late in July I've have at least 5 potato chip binges. When I just craved them so much that I caved in. Right now there are Girl Scout cookies in the freezer calling to me. I've been ignoring the cookies for 3 or 4 days now and it's been about 3 weeks since the last potato chip incident. Luckily, I've been able to have one bad day (sometimes 2) and then get right back to business.

I don't always get it right, but I try to think about how I am going to feel after the fact. It's been a 50+ year struggle for me. Hang in!!!

Hang in there - You can do it because you are trying - Anyway, the cravings you are getting are from sugar - If you drink regular soda, ever notice that you are always thirsty? It's the sugar - It is a drug if not used in moderation because it does cause obesity - Here are some things to try , eat pork rinds for chips - do whip cream and not ice cream - omelettes can be made with anything , mexican, italian, steak, chicken, kiche, - grill shiskabobs on the grill, squash, chicken, cucumber, mushroom, onion quarters, drizzle with butter and spices - gumbo less all the rice but packed with energy and heat - smoothies with blueberries, or strawberries, whipped cream and a pack of hot cocoa mix, some almonds also - yummoliciotiricillylp - that means I could eat it once in awhile- fish - etc - I don't know what you follow but see if any of these are in your plan - Go Green - God Bless

Find what initiates the cravings, then eliminate it. Artificial sweeteners are one culprit. Then, replace the item craved with something else. Finally, I recommend finding Bitten Jonssen, R.N. on the Internet. She has some great articles and videos about food addiction. Some of the things she said helped me greatly! Best wishes for your recovery!

I'm guilty too!

I agree that sweeteners can initiate cravings, especially if you are not getting plenty of good fats to satiate you. Blessings as you navigate this!

From one accountant to another, get up hourly and move around...... You will feel so much better. That calculator tape (sorry, I am old) really isn't chained to your leg....
