Mickidoodle's Journal, 15 February 2018

I have definitely let lose the reigns the past 5 days. After sticking to low calories and only healthy foods for 8 weeks and being at a stand still... my mind said “what is the point??”
I woke up this morning feeling bloated and sore all over... my body is reacting to the junk I ate.
So, knowing that I don’t want to gain the weight back that I have lost... I am back on track. It’s always the hardest getting thru the first few days of sugar cravings!

I did a 16 hour fast to reset my mindset. I’m going to keep my carbs under 50 today to try to not fall into the chocolate cravings again. Also, drinking lots of water

This might be all wrong... idk what I’m doing.

At least you came here and admitted it, instead of ignoring it! I started my weight loss journey this time with a 5 day cleanse, with intermittent fasting and it really helped me. There is an interesting show on Amazon Prime called "The Science of Fasting." It helped me understand why the body heals when it does't have bad stuff to run on for awhile. I had a bout with anorexia in high school, so I really have to watch myself and make sure I am not losing the weight too quickly. The food/calorie tracker here has really helped me. You got this!

You might not actually be eating enough calories. sometimes a bump up will help you.

Ignoring your cravings is always the toughest. I hate whenever the scale doesn't decrease but I always have to remind myself that weight loss isn't a race and that I've already come this far - 6.5 lbs is no small feat! Nice job!

Thanks for the encouragement everyone! I have been kind of all over the map with my plan. I started with just 1200 calories per day and I was hungry all the time and not really losing. So I started eating more fruits and veggies without worrying too much about the extra calories and I dropped another 2 pounds. I tried the 16:8 fasting for a week and it didn’t do anything for me (prob could have tried it longer). Then I got lazy with tacking calories bc nothing was happening. I have thot abt doing low carb but I know I won’t stick to it... any suggestions??

I was on a 1200 calorie plan last year that really worked for me. 125 grams protein, 125 of carbs and no more than 200 calories of fat which is about 20 grams. The main point was that hat I had to eat all of the amounts every day. It was hard to eat all that protein but I was losing steadily 1 to 2 pounds a week

Abbadabba- how did you get that much protein each day without going over your calories? What we’re your meals like?

You maybe should rethink doing low carb! It's actually way easier than it sounds because you're not hungry all the time and you're less likely to have blood sugar spikes or extreme lows. (I'm prone to this, I literally can't restrict calories because I get too lightheaded.) Also don't feel too bad, the occasional cheat day helps shake up your metabolism and may knock you out of this plateau. Just shake it off and keep it up! And remember that if you exercise it'll increase your muscle density so your scale may go up even if you're eating well.
