BuffyBear's Journal, 20 May 2012

It is a beautiful morning but I am headed off to the store. We are out of dog food so my little pooch had to "suffer" through a breakfast of leftover pork chop. The cats were envious as they had to eat their usual breakfast.

Maybe the farmers markets will be open on my way back so I can get some "people food" as well. I had an unintended "spike day" yesterday so I'd better be very careful today.

So much nicer to see a pic of you. It just makes this online world that much more real life. Hope the market is opened, I have not be able to find a good local one here yet this year.

Soulnoid - Thanks. I used to change pictures often but got a new photo program that was incompatible with FS. Some day I'll even get around to setting up a photo bucket account.

Hey Buffy...I'm sure your puppy really hated that pork chop...LOL..I would love to go to the market...may do so today...and get some fruits like cantalope and watermelon...that I can eat...Have great sunshiny day...:O)

Bren - we had one of those cantaloupes yesterday - it so perfectly ripe. You just can't buy them like that in the grocery store.

I am so sure that your dog was just horrified at "having" to eat a pork chop for breakfast...poor mistreated little animal. LOL Hope you found lots of goodies at the farmer's market. I got a lovely watermelon from Aldi's last week and it was PERFECT! One of the sweetest I have had in a long time. Enjoy your Sunday!

Stef - I happened to wander into Wal-Mart as they were marking down their flowers - can't eat them but had to buy some anyway!

I do so love flowers! I got a wonderful, beautiful bouquet of Alstromeria from my youngest for Mother's Day. They last such a long time!! Enjoy your flowers, my friend!

I'd watch your back....those cats might just call the ASPCA because THEY only got the regular ol' food while that DOG got a PORK CHOP!! LOL! Have fun at the farmers' market.

Sandy - the cats are pure evil. If I'm walking through with food they literally try to tackle me.

Last week I walked downstairs to find one of my cats playing with the back legs and tail of a squirrel (I can only assume the rest of it had been eaten)....I never knew a cat would hunt a squirrel...what will come through the cat flat next....the neighbour's bulldog????

Tracy, one of my favorite cats used to catch and kill squirrels, too. Summer before last he caught one, took it through the cat door on the screened in porch, and the poor thing was trapped and hiding. It was making a horrid racket, and when I went out and rescues it, it was bigger than my cat. He had carried it in by the scruff of it's neck. Cats are something else. I was just glad he didn't kill the little thing!

Oh goodness Stef, I thought it might have just been a one off! It is amazing though because the cat that is the real hunter is the smallest one, she feels no fear....

Tracy, the cat that caught the squirrel here, and hunted them was the smallest of all my cats. LOL He was fearless also. They are something, aren't they?

Tracy & Stef - Your cats are much braver than mine!

Love the picture Buffy, you look great girl....yes you do have one spoiled pooch...I won't tell mine she may go on strike....Oh maybe I won't get a cat with the woods behind and all the squirrels I would probably get lots of presents the ones I don't need :)
