Second day of trying to get back into ketosis. So, I know from reading that the diet should consist of mostly fat and 20 carbs and under, but unfortunately the Medi-Weightloss will not tell me what my micros should be until I lose the weight. I guess that is when I will be doing maintenance so they want to find the correct numbers? Who knows. I ate 18 carbs yesterday (under the 20). That is my goal for the week, to eat 20 carbs. It should work, right??

Bizzy any diet will get you to ketosis, it's a natural process, as long as your carbs are low. You will see, everyone is different it takes some people longer some people less.

My macros are 5/70/20 carbs/fat/protein with 2000 calories and I stay in ketosis and lose weight. Make sure you count your calories.

When you start Keto out, start under 50 carbs the first week and gradually reduce every week until your body can adjust to the new WOE, This might help you with what they call the Keto flu, headaches, nausea, cravings, fatigue, etc..It does take the body time to adjust, so you don't put your body into shock mode !! Sometimes it does take weeks for people to get into Ketosis, I do know for me it took over a month to get into it, but everyone is different, You can go on several different sites to get your micros, just get a average , as they all are different!! Good luck !!

I've been on "ideal Protein" for 3 months now and have lost 30 pounds, it's a great program and I recommend to anyone who is looking to be ketosis. This diet puts you n to ketosis and you stay there until you have gotten to goal, once at goal you will then go on 2 more phases adding more food back in until you then go on maintance. I'm 15 pounds from goal and I'm so pleased with how it's going. I made it through many social events including the holiday's and only cheated on Christmas day.

Main thing is stay committed to your ratios with in the calories you take in. Tips... 1, don't be afraid of healthy good fats. (no trans fats) 2, be cautious or mindful of your protein amounts. (don't want to much) 3. Drink lots of water, as keto will flush your system as you deplete carbs. lastly you may want to try intermminting fasting. where you eat all your calories in a 8, 6, or 4 hour window. I recommend the following YouTubers for more in depth info and recipes that are keto. keto connect Thomas DeLauer Your on the right track. stay with it.

To get into Ketosis sooner, I've kept my carbs under 10 a day. Making sure my fat intake is high enough to provide the energy needed to keep moving. :) The percentages I aim for each day is 5-10% Carbs, 15-20% Protein, and 60-70% Fat, that was recommended in some articles I read. The goal is to get your body to use healthy fats as it's energy source, rather than carbs. The less carbs you give it the sooner and more efficiently it can switch over.
