Debbie Cousins's Journal, 15 January 2018

Well, this has turned out to be an interesting day. I never was able to go back to sleep, and ended up having to go back to the oral surgeon because I got “dry socket,” even though I did/didn’t do everything they instructed. That behind me, I have done GREAT on my carbs today! I’m SO glad I made those Orange Creamsicle Jell-O Gelatin Cups before I went to bed last night! I’ve had TWO of them today (each 6-1/2-oz. serving is LESS than 2 Carbs!) I’ve submitted the recipe and it is “pending approval,” but you MAY be able to see the recipe if you click on it under what I’ve eaten.

I also modified my “Crispy Inside-Out Grilled Cheddar Sandwich” to include 2 pieces of Bacon and an extra slice of cheese! I’ve been up since 12:30am (because of the tooth pain), so I’m about ready to hit the sack now. I’m really too tired to eat dinner, even though I know I should. Maybe I’ll wake up before midnight and eat an Atkins Meal, or something. I’ve had a very productive day. A win all the way around!

Dry socket can be very painful, one of the nurses I work with stated basically there is nothing they can do for it...she swears by clove oil that she purchased had releaved her pain ...working she was unable to take a prescribed pain med. I hope you do feel better and may God bless you with some peaceful sleep tonight;)

Maxie4, when I went back to the surgeon this morning, he rinsed it out, put some medicine in it, then packed it with something that is supposed to dissolve in two days. He said that after 30 minutes, it wouldn't hurt anymore. He was wrong. I sincerely appreciate the well-wishes and prayers, and would be MOST thankful to God for a good night's sleep!
