Hi I am Sandy from Cincinnati Ohio. I am here because I need support from others , to help me learn how to get healthy.
I am 65 years old and just got my Medicare card ,wow was I happy about that.
I was a cosmetologist until I became allergic to so many hair products and took up nursing as a CNA and I did that for many years.
I love to write songs and poetry and I love to crochet , but most of all I love to cook , therefore I have a big problem ,I also like to eat.
Almost every person in my family on both sides had or has Diabetis and my mother died from it. You think that would have given me a warning , but no I had to have my fried chicken and cokes . I kept saying that I would never get the disease but I did and it was so out of control . I have many illness's brought on by being over weight and now is the time I am determined to do this right for the rest of my life. Please help me!!

How Often Do you weigh yourself?
I weigh every morning just to keep me on track for the day. If I lost ,I don't record it ,till it remains that wt. for three days.

So confusing. All of my numbers are good now except Tri's. I want to get it down where it should be, Oh my good HDL needs to be fixed a little bit. Blood Glucose is well under control.
I read on the site you sent me to that it says do not eat beans!!! I just made me a pot of homemade veggie bean soup. About 100 Cal. per cup,and it is so tasty.
I am trying so hard to give up the packaged stuff , because I know they are full of bad stuff . I just have to find better alternatives that I am happy with.
I have to remember this is for life ,so I have to be happy with it.

Is there anyone who has some knowledge on FAT intake and how much you should be showing on your chart.
I have stayed away from all the fats I can like butter , oils and such ,if it doesn't come naturally I try not to eat it. I do eat some processed meats ,like Turkey Breast , ham and chicken sausage, my fats are like 52% .
I worry about my Triglycerides being high ,so I am wondering does GOOD fat ,like avacado's etc . will they effect your TRI"S .I have these numbers I found on the net, 50% Carbs, 20% proteins and 30 % fats daily requirements.
