Hi I am Sandy from Cincinnati Ohio. I am back after a long time away. Lots of illness and stress, gained back all of my wt. and then some. Had knee surgery, went thru hubby having 3 heart attacks, I had eye surgeries and so on and so on. All excuses for not caring about myself. Any now I am back, and I started the LCHF diet in Feb. 2016 and lost 30 pounds. I have learned that you can reverse diabetes because I am walking proof. I started with a A1C of 8.00 and am now just under 6.00 since Feb. I will be off all my insulin by September as my Dr. is weaning me off of it a little each week. She also put me on Tresiba the new 1 shot a day , taking it anytime I want to. I also had a very fatty liver and all Blood test show that my liver is fine now. I don't know if it is because I take Turmeric everyday plus I have changed my way of eating.
Well it is now January 17,2018 and I weigh more than I ever have,but I am back for the last try at it,this way of eating is my life.
I started on November 28,2017 at 222 pounds,I started studying about the Keto diet and lost 14 pounds before starting here again at 208.

I'm Back
I am back again, had a rough year but back on top again . I am on the LCHF eating plan and I have lost about 26 pounds since February. Hubby had 3 heart attacks, I had knee surgery, eye surgery and biopsies on my Thyroid. But I am ready to rock and roll this fat off of me. Seeing an Endo Dr. and she is great. She started me on Tresiba the one time a day insulin and has cut all of my other insulins out. My A!C is 6.00 down from 8.00 and he plan is to take me off of insulin completely. So excited, it is true you can reverse Diabetes. Looking forward to sharing more with all of you.

How Often Do you weigh yourself?
I weigh every morning just to keep me on track for the day. If I lost ,I don't record it ,till it remains that wt. for three days.

I guess we could make a Topic Page and anyone who wants to record their measurements can, but I haven't seen a place as of yet.

Welcome to Fat Secrets where you have bunch's of people that are here to support you. We all have the same thing in common no matter how old we are. Good Luck and we are all pulling for you. So confusing. All of my numbers are good now except Tri's. I want to get it down where it should be, Oh my good HDL needs to be fixed a little bit. Blood Glucose is well under control.
I read on the site you sent me to that it says do not eat beans!!! I just made me a pot of homemade veggie bean soup. About 100 Cal. per cup,and it is so tasty.
I am trying so hard to give up the packaged stuff , because I know they are full of bad stuff . I just have to find better alternatives that I am happy with.
I have to remember this is for life ,so I have to be happy with it.
