The last thing I wanted to do this morning was get up and run. Not the day after my long run! Ughh! My training schedule called for it. Did 3.0 miles at a 11:23 pace. Then when I fed the labs, I just wanted to lay down and go to sleep. Had a heck of a time waking up this morning. One of those mornings when every move you make sets the domino effect in motion, like when you put something back on the shelf, and three other things fall off. Yeah, one of those mornings. Was running late - literally. Another 3 mile run in the morning, an abbreviated speed workout the next morning, and then 2 days of rest before the race. Hopefully, this training strategy will pay off. I paid for it - the training package, that is.
Getting ready to go out and watch one of our congressmen personally dedicate a flag to commemorate Memorial Day. They'll hang the flag up on a wall out here in the factory after that. Should be very nice.
Glad to see all my FS Friends who raced this weekend, had a fine showing and survived the ordeal. Congratulations to you all! Have a great Monday if that's possible!

Yeah Jess, far from it! 'Disciplined' does not necessarily equate to 'contentment'. :) Most mornings, I would rather shut the alarm off, roll over and just go back to sleep. That is what I would have done in my younger days. But, I've learned that I'm going to feel even worse about it, if I do. It's kind of like investing; there's got to be some present sacrifice in order to reap any future dividends.
