jsfantome's Journal, 02 April 2012

Well... WOW! What a weekend! Lifechanging barely describes it. Very few times in my life have I experienced something that has moved me so deeply, touched me in such a way... I will never be the same.

Of course, that is a good thing. But it was a painful and exhausting weekend to get there.

If you have no idea what I am talking about - you'll need to back up a few days to catch up on my journals.

Life inevitably continues to move on... and with it comes Monday, and my weekly weigh in. (which by the way is intentional...how many people CHOOSE Monday's!) ;) Well, great news...down another pound. (in two weeks). Whoo Hoo! Still ever so gently headed back to my original goal weight. And in general, the primary reason is 'my way of eating'.

I have been least consistent w/ my exercise. Although I do try to fit stuff in. Either here at home, out walking...at the gym, or at the church.. always mindful of whether I did anything extra on any given day... but it's definitely not the catalyst to my weight loss.

That, I believe - is due entirely to my 'food intake'. I have been faithful 7 days a week to eat between 1400-1800 calories, all low carb, healthy whole foods, good quality, eliminating any processed foods as much as possible, increased my veggie consumption to bkfst, lunch, dinner, and two salads - each day - and seriously, I think by adding in so much good food, it basically eliminates other choices, because you just can only eat so much!

I would say in general, my 'way of eating' or 'diet' has been a good 90% - if not 95% - of my success.

So, continuing along that journey... I am sticking w/ my Tues night class at church, hanging around this website as often as I can get here, and continuing to look for new things I can learn - all the time.

Over the coming months I will be working on a New Project - all related to the weekend noted above. And how to help bring awareness to MEN - to STOP THE DEMAND! They need to voice their objections. They need to encourage other men to STOP! And they need to be at the forefront of pushing for LAWS to be ENFORCED for those that won't. The political boys club needs to be broken into - the hearts of these men need to be changed. And PRAYER is one of the key elements to bringing about that change.

I believe God can change the hearts of NATIONS! And He's going to need to... as this is a GLOBAL issue. He is a BIG GOD... and I feel so much better knowing He hears my prayers, and it's His heart to HEAL the LANDS of our world.

It's going to take a lot to bring about this kind of change. But for the value of one - one child - it is WORTH IT!

Please be aware of this. Listen for 'sex trafficking' or 'human trafficking' to be popping up in the headlines/news stories, etc... Watch out for it in your community. Encourage men in your life to speak out... to other men... and say it's wrong. Let's STOP the DEMAND for our children's sakes.

Much Love.

Sometimes those moments can really shake you to the core and open your eyes to things that so many people don't want to think about or admit is happening right here in our own back yards. Lisa Ling did an episode on Our America about underage sex trafficking. It was hard to watch. You can watch full episodes on OWN. It is sickening to think about what those poeple have to go through. Thank you for taking a stand. Lots of prayers

Buffy - LOL! I thought I was stuck forever ;) I guess my body only likes exercise in moderation~! When I do too much... it pays me back by jumping the scale up. Once I get back to where I want to be, I will work on slowly increasing my levels of toning and fitness - but I'm headed towards 50 - so really, not looking to wear any Victoria Secrets out in public, anyway!!! And my hubby is quite happy in private. So, whatever. I feel better w/ the weight coming back down. And yes, I still want to get to the 135 mark. But in due time.
