Hello:
When I started this weight loss journey I simply looked for what I was supposed to eat. I didn't pay any attention to what I wanted. And, that worked.

However, now I "listen" and track what I want and I look for healthy substitutes.
Here is what my body says in a week:

After every meal I want something sweet
I make a keto bread like pound cake and I cover a slice with a stevia sweet chia jam. Sometimes I include almond butter or cream cheese and some whipped cream. Craving is satisfied. Ialso have banana, chia, coconut/almond milk stevia pudding

Sometimes I want something cold and veggie like
Simple: Crisp salad with tomatoes, leaf lettuce, endive, cukes and inions and Italian dressing.

Sometimes I need crunchy
I grab some sunflower seeds, walnuts, or other nuts

Sometimes I need rich with intensity - at least that is the best way I can describe
I grab sardines, anchovies, peanut butter

Anyway, I have begun paying more attention to my interests/needs/cravings instead of creating meals from a list of "good foods". It seems like this keeps hunger away and lowers my level of anxiety about food. I don't feel I am "missing" much.

Still working on that "bready feel" like when eating fried eggs or just having a sandwich and feeling that texture of bread being cut by your teeth. hsard to replicate but I will find something close.

I often crave either sweets like cookies or bear claws, but my biggest craving is usually for salty things especially potato chips. I'm not doing KETO, I'm just watching portions and my total calories each day. I have a cup of real hot chocolate most mornings with Ghiradhelli hot cocoa mix and skim milk. That seems to take care of the sweet cravings. I just recently started having a Claussen half dill pickle a few times a week and that seems to have really helped with the salt cravings. I thought bread would be hard to give up, but I can go several weeks without it. Right now I am toasting just 1/4 bagel in the morning and that is keeping me happy. I also like sunflower seeds, walnuts and almonds and most other nuts.

Good job listening to your "head hunger" and working around it with your way of eating. Sometimes its a pain to tell the "head hunger" to be quiet enough so that you can hear the "belly hunger".
