The cravings are bad today. I just can't seem to be satisfied or feel full of "good" foods, all I can think about are the "bad" ones. Fried dough crusted in sugar in various formats keeps racing through my brain. Baked goods covered in cream, (whipped-, ice-, and -cheese icing) dance behind my eyelids. Empty carbs as far as the mind can see, and the thousands of calories that come with them.

The fact that I didn't get to weigh in today (away from home and my bathroom scale) means I'm missing that little bit of willpower seeing the numbers drop would give me. I have a treat planned for later this week, a friend's birthday cake. I just don't know if I can stand the craving until then.

Cross your fingers for me, FS buddies. This ride may get bumpy.

I understand. When I get bad cravings I normally give in to them. In a big way. But this past week I bought a piece of German chocolate cake - 2 pieces actually for someone's birthday. He ate half which was 1 regular piece of cake. His wife wouldn't have any. I had a tiny bit, half of a quarter of the remaining piece which was about 2 bites. Could you do something like that and be satisfied? I was fine with that taste of the cake.

Sometimes when I planned a "cheat", the cravings came on like gang busters.

The more protein you can eat at a meal the less cravings you will have. the protein seem to fill you more and the more you eat them the less you crave the sugars. When I get a craving for something sweet I take heavy whipping cream, whip it up and sprinkle a little bit of cinnamon on it and that satisfies the sweet craving. Give it a try and see if it helps for you. :-) best of luck on your weight control journey.

I totally understand you. Maybe some nuts with a little bit of sugar will help you? Or a nice steak?

I travel often too. And when I feel like you do, I take a walk; even if it's just up one airport concourse and down another, at least 20 minutes. Then I have green tea and some lean protein. Works for me. Stay strong, you can do this.

If you are not adverse to coconut - I find spoonful of coconut manna(butter) eaten slowly helps me get over the craving for sweet.

I am not one to give advise these days because I have not been following it myself. It seems my will power is also at an all time low. When you get like that try drinking a full eight ounces of water and see how that effects your mind.

Alyssal2017. Part of this journey is relearning to eat. I don't know if you can afford this but I started off signing up for the BistoMD service. I only did it for a few weeks as it is terribly expensive. However, it is perfectly balanced and keeps you at either 1200 (F) or 1400 (M) calories per day. The food is also surprisingly good. Once you get back on your own at the grocery store it becomes much harder. My only advise is to pay attention to and follow the listed portion sizes.

we all have had days like this, I myself, it's a battle, but stick with, I do Bullet Proof Coffee w/Coconut Oil, Butter, and Splenda, It's like a meal replacement and it's also help stop the craving, especially the coconut oil, and it also helps you to get your fats level up, if your doing low carb lifestyle, and I also chew trident gum, especially when I have already had eaten, and I drink plenty of water, I hope this could help you on your journey, because it help me to loose 250 pound, we all have to find out what works better for us, because our bodies are different, but we're all here to be a Help to one another, Happy Labor Day, and stay Focus, don't eat things that will stall our weight loss.

Hang in there it will pass. Everyone is different but maybe some increased protein might help. There are many good ideas here - I hope one of them helps you.

I have a glass of tomato juice it seem to make me feel full. Sometimes I also jump in the shower When I am feeling the craving to eat when I am not even hungry. I also take a ride in my car it seems to calm me that then gives me what I need to keep control of myself
