I think it's a great idea and especially so as it's designed for you, by you and you're the one doing it. Selfish but we need these achievements in our lives. Keep up the good work! PS - where is their hot tub going? 😂

Perfectly stated...many of us share our lives on this site. I love seeing what others are doing. Makes buddies seem more real. Your coop is your way of expressing who you are and I, for one, love it!

What makes journalling interesting IS sharing of lives and perspectives and how we all can grow and expand, especially when food and/or obesity no longer are so much in control of our lives! 🙋🏻Good on you for doing something you dreamed of!🙆🏻

I could not have built this several years ago. I had trouble even walking before I lost weight. I was only 192 but the extra weight really affected me as I was heading for a knee replacement and used a cane most mornings and often in the evening, sometimes resorting to crutches. I was embarrassed to use either at work. I limped all the time as my knee and leg hurt. I injured my leg in a horse accident back in 1986 and had major surgery then to put it back together. Being able to accomplish physical things is a huge change for me. My knee now hurts rarely and my cane is a constant visible reminder to me not to go backwards. I was lucky and had an ortho doc who gave me an ultimatum.

Awesome! Raising chickens is NOT as easy as people think nor is it cheaper than buying eggs but it was totally worth it! I jpined local chicken groups and they helped a lot when we went to byild a coop as well as for tips to figure out who was a roo. I cannot wait to move somewhere i can have backyard chickens again!

Brandioo, I haven't found a local chicken group, still looking for one. Hope you can again have chickens soon. I live in the city but the codes say we can have up to 6 hens and the coop and run also have to meet certain requirements. I have a park with woods and a creek behind my house so lots of predators. I have spent lots of extra $$ and time securing the coop and run from them. Hoping I have succeeded, it's rather a fortress. Hoping to have the coop secured by the end of the day so can move the chicks to their new home tomorrow even if I'm still working on the run.

Hoping I get the coop secured today so I can move the young hens to the coop today. The run, one window (it has been screened) and nest box (board will be screwed in over that opening) won't be finished but this will give them more room. I've learned that they should stay in the coop for about a week anyway so they know where home is and letting them get used to it before letting them into a run. Back to work tomorrow vacation days are always too short as are weekends. An early morning thunderstorm is just winding down, so time to get a few inside things done while it dries out a bit.
