I recently changed jobs from sitting at a desk only answering calls and greeting customers to a computer based accounts receivable job or accounting as I call it because I do some of that work too. I have noticed that since Friday I have had a headache. It wasn't that bad on Friday but I had it all weekend and now onto my few days at work. After lunch today it was so bad all I wanted to do was cry. I didn't really change my diet all that much and I have put my macros back in order to where I think they should be. I also change the brightness down on the computer screen. Even took some of that headache medicine and I normally try to stay away from it. I just can't figure out why I have it. Anyway sorry for rambling. Figured I'd log about it. Onwards we go. Everyone have a wonderful night

Tension headache, maybe? Changing work duties might be stressing you out a wee bit (due to learning curve/environment). Anyway, hope you feel better and wake up without the headache in the morning!

I was thinking stress headaches too. Headaches are strange things and can be caused by anything from changing of the weather to a perfume someone near you is wearing. Hopefully you are keeping track of your BP as well. Hang in there and don't be afraid of ibuprofen. It is your friend.

Please get your eyes checked. I have been a computer programmer for some time. I needed "computer" glasses to see better at 16 to 24 inches in front of my face. Didn't need them to read a book, didn't need them to see a stop sign. Just when I was staring at the computer. You may not even realize that your eyes are working overtime to focus on what is in front of you. Ironically for me, as I got older, the only distance I can see clearly without aid is 16 to 24 inches in front of my face. I wear trifocals now where there is no prescription in the middle of the glasses. :D

Huh I haven't thought of that. Though I do wear contacts because I can't see far away. Maybe if I switched to glasses that would help. I'll have to try it.

I'm presuming the job change came with a location change ? Also check the overhead lighting - I've known different lighting to cause people headaches, etc.

just a suggestion, but maybe try raising/lowering your chair or the monitor with reams of paper and try bringing the keyboard closer. I have found that sitting for hours with my arms held out, even though resting on a keyboard still brought tension, muscle aches and headaches which progressed through the week. It could be an ergonomic issue at your new desk.
