Looking to lose weight for health reasons. Have had a rough couple of years with Rheumatoid Arthritis, fibro, cancer and had a further setback when I hurt my back in January, 2017. It's very disheartening when you've always been very slender to suddenly keep putting weight on and you just can't lose it. My weight loss journey has taught me that it's not as simple as "calories in, calories out". Chronic health conditions cause massive internal inflammation which definitely affects your ability to lose weight. As individuals, we each must become metabolic detectives to figure out what works for our own weight loss.

How fast is too fast?
I wouldn't let it bother me that no one responded right away - I often don't see new posts unless I'm scrolling down the page to see them. As for the weight loss, it wouldn't hurt to mention it to your doctor. When I underwent surgery to remove my kidney, I lost 12 lbs over one week and it took a couple of weeks for my appetite to recover. As rhills said, make sure you're keeping well hydrated, and consider using nutritional shakes or bars until your appetite recovers some. Anyway, I hope you're having a better day today - all the best!

Bad arm and can't do push ups
Oh dear. Have you talked to a physical therapist? I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and it took me a long time to be able to do floor push ups (and I can only do those by modifying so I'm pushing up from my knees). I started by doing wall push ups, graduated to table push ups, then stair push ups. Sometimes my wrists hurt so bad I just go back to an easier version. Effort and keeping good form is what's most important. In any case, I would talk to your doctor's office and/or a PT about what exercises you CAN do right now. Hope you get stronger and have less pain! Smile
