Soulnoid's Journal, 28 February 2012

Day 38- On the road for a the second day. I wonder if I am eating enough? I am full when I eat, but get a craving around 9-10pm. The fitness room was full tonight at my hotel when I went down at my regular time, so I planned on skipping it, but I could not sit here and watch tv knowing I did not do it... so I went down and did it.

You need to decide if it is a craving or your body telling you that you need to eat more. I like to keep single serving, healthy snacks with me so when I feel I need to eat, I eat. Good Luck! Being on the road is hard when you are trying to diet.

Did you usually eat at night (@ 9-10 pm)? It might just be an old habit? Like popcorn at a movie? Good for you for going back down and doing your work out! I agree with poster above, if you are hungry eat a healthy snack....as long as it's not empty calories you should be fine.

Way to go at sticking to your guns and getting the workout in! It is soo easy to just veg in front of the TV, especially at the end of the day - so GREAT JOB!

Do you track all of your calories? 1200 is low I feel like, especially since you're a guy! Not that I'm an expert here, though. Maybe if you continue to feel hungry later at night, try upping your calories by just a couple hundred and seeing how you feel. Awesome job getting your workout in though!!

Katiekinz, I find if I go over 1400 cals, I run into problems. I know strange and am still playing to see where I need to be. I also left room last night for a beer or 2, but ended up not drinking it. After a day of sales on the road, I crave a beer around 5-6pm (Happy Hr). If I get through dinner without drinking, I usally don't want it.

I wouldn't worry too much about eating later at night. It's a total myth that eating later on will make you put on weight. I just go with what my body is telling me and as a result I regularly eat later on. I've had no problems losing weight at all despite late-night eating, as long as I factor it into my overall allowance. Often I find something like a boiled egg, low in calories and high in protein, is all it takes to satisfy the hunger. Keep experimenting to find what works for you and your body and I'm sure you'll continue to do well!
