Ingria's Journal, 23 April 2017

Got stuck at 182.5. With current schedule at work, remaining PT appointments and my now weekly migraines there is not much I can do in terms of implementing changes. I dropped my daily workout intensity because of PT sessions. I get rather tired after them so I am afraid of pushing myself too much on days off as it might cause another migraine or flare. Same about food, I have to cut snacking at work, but start getting headaches and cannot think clearly when hungry. Will try to reduce carbs and calories slightly in 4 days cycle with 4th day as cheat. Will see if it helps. I need to move into 17*s even if it is more for motivation than for practical purposes.
182.5 lb Lost so far: 15.5 lb.    Still to go: 28.5 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

Have you read the book "Aging Backwards" and her new one? I am actually implementing some of her stretching techniques and am seeing some results on chronic pain and so is my older sister. I borrowed the book from the library, but now I think I have to buy it! 😁

I have "Aging Backwards", did not see the new one. Need to check it. I love Miranda's method. Have been doing her tapes for years.

Love Miranda's Classical Stretch classes. They are on PBS at 5am so I record them to do around 7am when I'm awake! LOL

I think it is better to read the book once you tried to follow her exercise videos. I became a follower when she was on PBS. Then there was a break and I splurged and bought a few tapes (a couple of seasons and a few targeted area tapes). Did not check if she is back on PBS in my area. It is hard to just follow the exercises in the book if you did not see the tapes. I think she also has some free demonstrations on YouTube and probably on her site. I have not done any of the new Essentrics series though. I have enough for now to rotate for a couple of months so do not plan to buy them. I highly recommend both her tapes and the book. It is great work out, much harder then it looks if you do it right. And it does help to overcome years of sitting, incorrect posture and injuries from disfunctional gym routines.

Oh and for those who don't know what we are talking about - Miranda Esmonde-White. Books "Classical Stretch", "Aging Backwards", "Forever Painless", video exercises "Classical Stretch", site http://classicalstretch.com. For younger audience, no you do not need to be over 50 to benefit. If you want a perfect balerina body with lean elongated muscles, you can use it too.

The "Forever Painless" actually seems to be giving my sister some relief from her fight with teenaged onset arthritis and curvature of the spine pain issues. The doctors hate the amount of pain medicine she needs to take to keep moving, but the alternatives are worse. This is the first thing in a long time that has helped her.

I just found them on Amazon less expensively then through her website. It's coming from her, but at a discount.

Sweet. She has sales sometimes as well, but I guess nothing beats Amazon.
