The Connection Between Food and Fear!

I am a binge eater! I am an emotional eater! Just when I get a step forward I take two steps backward.

It has always been my dream to be in good shape. It has been my dream to take my shirt off in a public place free of any fear or fat shaming. I excel in exercise and breaking down my muscles but my efforts are in vain as long as i struggle with inconsistency with my diet.

It has been a habit of mine to manage my emotions with sugar and in large amounts. I haven't been officially diagnosed but I struggle with BED. I am learning that my lower brain interprets daily stresses as life or death and that I must eat calorie dense foods so that I may survive. Yet, how does one survive the binge eating?

Until next time!

Hopefully being here on this site will help you. When I am stressed, I journal. I find it a better release and it has helped me tremendously to be here on FS. You will find plenty of understanding folks on here - many who have been at the same place as you are. Good luck and remember we are here for you!

I do not mean to give advice here but some folks do well working a 12 Step program around the binge eating - our brain interprets it as addiction. Best of luck, I know you can get control.

What helps me here is a positive reframe on weight loss; sometimes I forget that, and when I do I am in trouble. Couple it with hope and the load is lighter.
