Hermiones Mom's Journal, 06 March 2017

So yes I really am back. Having a little trouble getting my calorie count down again, but seem to be making a little progress in that direction each day. I would like to keep myself below 1400 calories every day. I know a lot of people eat less than that each day as a weight loss strategy, but I have come to the conclusion that the more days I feel hungry during the day, the more likely I am to fall off the wagon. If I plan my food carefully, including plenty of protein and fiber, I don't feel hungry, and I slowly lose weight. I think for me this is a better plan than the old days when I would try to eat 900-1200 calories per day, but I couldn't sustain that for long enough to lose the weight and keep it off. I had plenty to eat today -- in fact, I ate several things I could have done without entirely because I went to tea at a friend's house and had a few chocolate-covered almonds, which didn't fill me up for my afternoon snack, so then I had to eat some jerky on top of that. Should have just brought my jerky to tea!
