ColleenJJ's Journal, 02 March 2017

I've been working at this for about 7-8 weeks now. I have not eaten a single bite of bread, pasta, fruits, cereal, cake/cookies, chips, potatoes/fries, chocolate/candy since 12.31.2016.

I do eat protein and dairy: meats, eggs, cheeses/sour cream/cottage cheese, sour cream, and a few veggies (lettuce, radish, peppers, cucumber, broccoli, cauliflower), and olives. My snacks are usually sugar-free jello, dill pickles, or measured portions of nuts.

Because of falling off a ladder many years ago, and 3 car accidents, my knees/ankles/back are compromised. I can't even walk for long distances w/o pain, let alone jogging. But I did find a web-site called "Grow Young Fitness" that offers an exercise program while seated that I can handle. It's not much, but it's a far sight better than NOTHING, which had been my exercise routine for the past 30 years!!

My weight loss is very, very slow. I get discouraged, but I will keep trying. I have 4 young grandchildren who are the light of my life, and my goal is to dance at their weddings!!! I just want to enjoy my grands for a long time, God willing. I'm trying to help Him out by taking better care of His temple - me!

I am inspired by a lot of the posts I read, and I take strength in the knowledge that others are rowing the same boat as I. God bless us, every one! :+)

Think of it as life style change rather than a diet. Eventually as the weight comes down, you will be able to move more, and increase your metabolism. And exercise in a chair definitely will step up that metabolism too if done regularly! Hang in there.
