Yeah in vt we lose power all the time. We fortunately have a wood stove to keep us cozy and a gas stove.

Yesterday 1/11/17, I got PGE electric power back on 10 minutes after I shutdown the generator. ! Power was only off for 24 hours. and today I've gotten 4 SMS (I signed up for Text updates) that all say they don't know when it will be fixed, but may need to count on an extended outage. :0 The cause was the transformer on a pole about 500 feet from me blew, and yesterday they bypassed it at 5:42pm, so I've had power since then, and today they replaced it. And no loss of power to do so. The right hand is not talking to the left though. I'm on a dead end road, and there was a comedy of shuffling 4 PGE HEAVY trucks when one person wanted to get out and another had to get in, at the same time on this very narrow dead end street I live on. There is more to that story but I won't bore you. :) I also have a fireplace insert I use for backup heat. very nice. :)
