Las Vegas Linda's Journal, 19 December 2016

I think I have gotten my carb binges under control finally. I did so much damage this year. From needing only 45 pounds lost to reach goal I now need 110 pounds lost to reach goal. I am using this time before Jan. 1st to get everything back to normal, adjust my eating plan so I'm not continually carb deprived or I'll binge again, and to plan an escalating exercise program that starts slowly and builds. I am determined to be at my goal by Christmas next year if not sooner. I guessed at my current weight for this last weigh in. If it had been higher I might have given up. At least this way, it should be accurate by Jan. 1 and maybe lower as long as I don't go overboard on Christmas. Family already knew not to give me any candy or food type gifts this year. We're having Christmas breakfast. I will make mine separately so I can make my usual omelet with veggies, guacamole and cheese (no toast). I believe we are having roast beef for dinner and I will have veggies and probably a biscuit. Probably won't have any desert (or I'll have a flavored yogurt). I am determined to get much more exercise, but it will be hard since on Jan. 17 I start a work from home job that will keep me tied to the computer. I'm hoping I can do my rower or exercises throughout the course of the day during lulls and lunch hour. Thanks for all the support that has been forthcoming when I have bad weeks. It meant a lot.

Many of us here have regained weight. I lost and regained 70 lbs last time, and have now lost it all plus 10 more. All you can do is work from where you are now, and don't dwell on the coulda shoulda's. Sounds like you're primed to make the most of 2017. Have a happy Christmas and New Year!

I try and think of all setbacks not as failures but as learning experiences. Why did I binge, what was I feeling, were there clues leading up to it, why wasn't I able to stick with my chosen plan, is there a "fit" that would be better for ME, what do i need to do differently, is there new ways to try? All questions I still ask myself.....Way to NEVER give up!!!

Thanks everyone. I am really looking forward to 2017. I have started back to eating healthy this week. Will enjoy Xmas without going overboard and get right back on program the next day. Got myself a step counter to track my movements and will slowly work in extra exercise. I am going to do this all the way to my goal this time!!!
