I still put sugar in my first coffee. I had ALMOST made it completely sugar free... then on a Sunday Morning.. I wanted the sweet to sip and enjoy. Now, it feels like I'm starting all over again to get my coffee sans sugar again... So, for now... I'm going to just let it go as it is. My weightloss has been stead and stress free.. I'd like to keep it that way. It seems that this one sugar drink isn't impeding my progress.. In the future, however, this may change... Remaining stress free and pushing toward goal after goal... Of course, I have some difficult days here and there, resisting urges... but I make it through and keep trucking along.. CICO.. CICO... CICO...

I'm not sure of your feelings on artificial but I use swerve and have had no problems with it. No cravings for more sweets or upset tummy. No stalls....

Nothing wrong with a teaspoon of sugar if it keeps you sane!

Haven't heard of Swerve.. will check it out. Currently, I don't believe I have a problem yet with one tb of sugar daily.... For now... it's only 49 calories added... I'm not getting cravings for sweets... although, I do indulge here and there in a safe manner... I know as my weight goes down, my Daily intake will go down, and then I have to take this spoon of sugar more seriously... Not sure.. I really enjoy it... I consider a second cup, at night, decaf hot tea or coffee, so it includes a second spoon for the day, occasionally, as my 'cheat meal'...

I think 49 calories a day of sugar won't hurt anything

there are just some things in life I refuse to give us. My morning coffee is at the top of the list!!!!

PGM, I know!!!! and I'm so sure I could just skip it and go straight to the water, but I really love it... It's such a major part of my life :P

There are a few food items I will always fit in - coffee with cream everyday, once a year rum soaked german chocolate cake imported from Germany, and Christmas dinner with my dad (he is all I have left of my family - besides my kids)

I used to love cream and sugar but I found something I LOVE even more....Walden Farms Caramel Sauce! I put it with almond milk, in my coffee....in everything! It gives me the sweet I need with nothing I don't! They also have chocolate sauce so I milk that with protein almond milk and warm it up for nutritious hot chocolate!

If it doesn't have a negative impact, don't worry about it.

Pickles, coffee is one of my "food groups" I'm sure. My preference is black though, so no additional calories....many enjoyable cups over the years. :-)

I like your comment about ""stress free and pushing towards the goal"..., that's way more effective than stressing over a few calories.

Thanks Steven! Im good for the second cup and the very rare third..... but it's that FIRST cup that absolutely has to have the add-ins :P my refills, ok, black is good. A lot of the 'stress free' comes from the planning. I've set my goals from when I started through til June of 2019 at an average loss of one pound per week. I'm so far ahead of schedule right now, that even if it were to take me til March to lose 4 more pounds, Im still at an average loss of 1 pound per week. But with my CICO choices, I'm currently at an average of 2.6 pounds per week lost... About 20 pounds in the past.... 8.. ? ... weeks... I have it all written down :P Bear in mind though, I have yet to hit any plateaus. So, here's to hoping in ANOTHER 8 weeks, I'm still on track :)

Phil, that's my thought. When I'm checking Macros though, which I'm still not actually working on... I see how many carbs the sugar adds and THAT's when it feels like the biggest waste of space...

I hope ya'll are all still here to see my future progress pics too :) I'm four pounds away from my next set of pics.. arms only.. for privacy.. but shows a surprising difference...

Pickles, 1Tbs is a lot of sugar. Try weaning yourself down to 3 tsp., then 2, then 1, then none. Sugar is an acquired taste. You can learn to lose it. When you've gone sugar free simple vegetables taste marvelously sweet. There's a good series of videos about sugar addiction on dietdoctor.com. Losing the sugar habit will improve your appreciation for other foods.

I think coffee is good for you..I had to learn to drink mine black because i used to fill it full of creamer...now i dont mind it black. I have also taught myself to use local raw honey if i REALLY need a sweet fix .at first everything tastes like honey but after you give up sugar and use the honey replacement , you only taste the sweet.

Ericka. 1 tb = 3 tsp. I could probably stick with 2tsp. I was down to practically none, I'll wean myself off later. I'm not terribly concerned about it right now, but I do hate the wasted carbs on my tracker and know I'll have to do it eventually.
