Blech. So tonights dinner was not low carb or healthy, at all. I'd eaten a reasonable (and tasty) breakfast, I'd had a protein bar after my work out, and all was well with the world. Then my husband calls to tell me that his new boss wants to take us out. I'm thinking okay, I can just stick to a chicken salad or some such. Wrong. So wrong. It was a Thai place and the boss insisted we all try his favorite dish, fried egg noodles is sesame sauce with beef and veggies. He just ordered it without asking and I felt really uncomfortable saying "I'm on a diet", so I just kept my trap shut. I downed three glasses of water before the food reached the table, and I managed to eat a smaller portion, but even so I'm adding nearly 1,000 calories to the journal to be on the safe side. Probably not even enough. Gah.
I'm still below 1700 total calories for the day, and I insisted we walk all the way home to get extra walking time in (currently icing my screaming knee), but uhg. I'm already getting a headache and, even though there's no way I could possibly be hungry, my brain is telling me to eat. My carb tolerance is crap. My husband suggested we get icecream on the way home - 1200 more calories for a pint of ben & jerry's (if I remember right). I put my foot down and said no. 2200 extra calories to burn in a week for a single night? No thanks.

Well, what's done is done. At least you were mindful of your portion AND you did a walk home.

I'm pretty sure you can bounce back from a night you had no choice but to partake in. Im just starting, and since I know times will be such that I will have to be at someone's mercy for choosing the meal, I'll just have to brush off and not feel badly just do better. My knees and shoulders are in need of replacement ( starting January) and I want 50 lbs off.. I've been dating both Ben and jerry for a long time. They seemed like great guys at the time!!! Good luck 🍀👍

Sounds like you did the best you could under the circumstances. Sometimes you're the windshield and sometimes you're the bug.

Awe big hug! That must have been awful being trapped like that. But I think you handled it well because you didn't just say "screw it" and eat everything in sight during and afterwards. And you walked. So good for you and just keep on rocking!

It's ok! There will always be circumstance in life where you will have to put your diet "on hold" sorta, because we all know "love means putting the needs of our spouses before ourselves" -- which is true, *to an extent!* as long as it doesn't jeopardize or health or mental well-being (but true love would never ask that of a spouse to begin with, anyway, so yeah...) You did GREAT!!!! You showed respect for your husband's new boss, you showed love for your husband, and did it all with the awareness of drinking *loads* of water to offset the bomb you knew was coming, lol! You're completely aware of what you were doing, and know what you have to do to get back on course afterward. AND you said no to the ice cream! You're awesome!!! :)

LOL, I'm so the bug right now @rhontique.
And thanks everyone. I'm gonna bounce back, just have to feel hungover tonight (and probably a little tomorrow). It's just one meal...must not self destruct.
