It struck me today when I walked the dogs down to the park that I remain constantly amazed at the extent to which -- in the past six months -- I've been able to adopt a much more active lifestyle. Although I always worked hard, I became very sedentary over the past 10-12 years, and everything besides work seemed to demand more energy than I had. So things got left undone for months. I'm still struggling to catch up with a lot of things, but I get far more done every day than I have in a long time. I hope that I can maintain and grow this level of activity because it means I can get my house in order and start taking some classes and doing other things to keep my brain active. I know I need to work and bring in regular income for the next five years in order to have enough to do maintenance on the house and replace the car. So I need to keep active and energetic. Although it would be nice to win the lottery or have a long lost relative leave me some money! -- I don't really think either of those things are likely to happen. So I better keep well and fit going forward. P.S. I won't eat bacon sausage every day but it is too yummy to swear off permanently. If I don't eat a morning snack, then the extra calories in the bacon sausage shouldn't be a problem. I've frozen the rest of the package so that I don't tell myself I have to eat it up before it spoils.
