**Disclaimer: I am not feeling depressed and sad, just a little perplexed and confused.**

Okay, I need some help. I've been exercising. I've been eating right. Yes, my calorie intake has been low, but I'm not starving myself. After I eat, I always feel fufilled. However, I weighed myself this morning, and since last week, I've only lost .8lbs. That is very discouraging to me. I haven't been doing this for that long. Why, then am I already hitting a plateau?

I have been doing exercise tapes, I have been doing morning exercises. Nothing I'm eating is terrible for me. Sure, I had two pieces of white chocolate this week, but that seriously couldn't have been the problem, could it?

I just need some, advice. What can I be doing better? I have been doing pretty much the same thing all along. I've just started changing my food up, so could that be the problem? Is there any I'm doing that I shouldn't be doing? Or is there something that I'm not doing that I should be doing? I really want to succeed, but when I don't see a significant drop every week, I get discouraged.

I know this isn't a quick thing, but it gets a bit disheartening this early in the game when I'm doing all that I can, and I'm not seeing any results.

Okay. On a happier note, Christmas is in 3 days. Today is my "niece's" 4th birthday (I put that in quotes, because I'm not actually related to her, but she's one of my best friend's kids.) And, I got a lot of great presents, and cannot wait until I see the look on everyone's faces when they open them.

My 5:
1. Wrapping Christmas presents
2. Last minute shopping tomorrow
3. Cowboys winning on Saturday (I'm still on a football high)
4. A short week at work (I'm halfway done!)
5. Tess' birthday tonight :)

Hope everyone's Christmas week is going well, and I hope everyone has a healthy and happy holiday, along with their families :) And the willpower at Christmas Feasts!!!

If your diet calendar is correct, then your basically not eating enough food. Eating less than 1200 a day is not good for your long term health. At your current weight, you should probably be eating no less than 1500 a day. If you don't fuel your metabolism, it doesn't burn. (Think of a fireplace, you stop putting wood in it, it won't burn efficiently). Your metabolism needs the fuel to work, and exercising makes it need more. It slows when it doesn't get enough and can make you not lose. Try a week of eating no less than 1200 a day. Make sure you get enough protein, fresh fruits and veggies, and drink plenty of water. Good luck!

I agree with Suzi. You are not eating enough!!! I know it is scary to eat more ... and our brains tell us we must CUT BACK! CUT BACK! CUT BACK! However I ran into the same thing in my journey. Give your body a little more to work with. I do find that varying my intake, protein, fat, carbs and varying my exercise routine seems to help as well. And ... take heart!!! The joy is in the journey ... not the destination ... celebrate each step, pay attention to what you have accomplished not what you have left to do ... and practice kindness and patience towards yourself!! Have a great day!!

@ Suzi & Moose: Eating more seems to be the general consensus. Hopefully what I eat today doesn't affect my weigh in tomorrow negatively. You can see what I ate for lunch today is a BIG difference from what I usually eat. Hopefully this will help. @ Rox: We'll always have Glee :)

I agree with everyone. I bet that you will see a positive result on the scale. It's impossible to be adding muscle, losing fat and starving yourself all at once for any period of time. Humans evolved when there was not enough food. So our bodies are VERY good at getting efficient and using the least amount of energy (calories) possible when it senses that resources are low. Also, if you are adding muscle, muscle weighs more than fat so it's possible you have lost fat but have added muscle. Are you taking measurements? Or you can even compare a piece of clothing over time. Sometimes the scale is not moving very much but you are definitely getting smaller.

it's hard to eat more, I know what you're talking about! but it's necessary if you want to reach your goal. go slowly, 100 calories at the time, for 1 week. keep track of everything (measurements are important, like Beets said) and move to the next 100 calories once you feel in control. also, you can cycle your intake. 3-4 days "normal" then a high calorie day (no junk food lol!) and a lower one and so on. good luck!
