So I've been trying to read up a little bit on intermittent fasting. Does anyone have any success with this? I struggle with hunger throughout the day, and by trying to eat a keto diet, I just have my routine meals that I go to throughout the day, including snacks so I don't feel like I'm starving. Is it really so wrong to want to eat 4-5 times a day? My SO really only eats one meal a day (lunch) and doesn't feel hunger outside of it, and I'm so envious of it. I just feel regularly hungry and feel like I can't function without breakfast, lunch, and a light dinner.

Some people just can't do the one meal a day thing, which you can't know unless you try. Also, you can get used to fasting and it becomes easier. If you are eating 3 meals and 2 snacks, maybe take baby steps and try to get it down to 3 meals to start, then perhaps two. It may or may not work for you but if you're losing weight then what you are doing is working and I wouldn't worry too much about it.

I agree with T64, stick with the keto and you can work into it if you you need to break through a plateau. Also, after you've been doing keep for a while you'll be able to go longer without food in between.

I have been doing IF for over a year and I love it. Sometimes I start to get a bit hungry at the 14 hour mark...and I just start drinking a lot of water. Generally that is able to keep me sustained until I break my fast. I also try to stay within a regular eating window time. 11am - 7ish. I find when I eat much later than that...it of course feels like a much longer fast and waiting to eat until noon or 1pm does become more challenging. Also....depending on your schedule...you can flip your eating window and skip dinner instead if that is easier. So for instance, you would stop eating at 5pm and resume eating again at 9am the next morning and have your breakfast. Just a thought! Good luck :)

My intermittent fast program is not working. I stop eating between meals and when I'm asleep. I probably have it wrong.

I'm keto and doing 18:6 IF also. I find that the key for me is to make sure I'm getting enough GOOD FATS in my two meals, lunch and dinner. Then I'm not even hungry between meals. For breakfast I do bulletproof coffee which is all I need to keep me full until noon when I have my first meal. Find something that works for you....you can do it!

I love IF! For a good explanation on why it's good for you, check out "Butter Bob Briggs" channel on YouTube. He has a video called, "Why are fat people hungry?"
