BuffyBear's Journal, 22 October 2011

My experiment is concluded and I have the results. It comes in Good News/Bad News format.

The good news is I can eat up to 50 net carbs per day and not gain any weight. This is actually good to know if I ever reach maintenance. The bad news is, of course, that I didn't lose any weight.

Goals this week - keep net carbs below 30, cals below 1600 and keep up the exercise.

My thrill of the morning is I found a new store which made me forgot all about my budget. I am now the proud owner of a "Cook's Knife" (one step down from a Chef's Knife - but I consider myself more of a cook than a chef).

162.0 lb Lost so far: 24.0 lb.    Still to go: 30.0 lb.    Diet followed poorly.

Diet Calendar Entry for 22 October 2011:

You know Buffy, the book talks a lot about trying various foods and carb levels to find out what will work for us - and what will not. Personally, I hate it when my experiments don't work, because I feel it's a lost week (or more). But it's not. It's valuable information that will enable us to be successful in Maintenance, as you say. You'll be so much better off knowing these facts, even from experiments you wished would have had different results, than the person who never ventures out of Induction until after reaching goal. You're gaining that all-important intuitive feel for what works for you, eating as you might expect to eat for the rest of your life. It's truly great work!!! Onward to the next experiment! Who knows? The next one might blast you right on into the mid-150's!!

Sandy - Thank you. I know this isn't a race but I truly would like to join you in the 50's!

No worries there...you're just giving me (and GG) a few extra days to clean up the place - LOL!!!

Sandy & GG - No need. When I get there I'll clean it for you. And cook you dinner . . . anything . . . just let me join you!

Nonna - Thank you for understanding. If I were an architect the kitchen would be the biggest room in the house.
